Shaun White Snowboarding on PSP set for Nov. 13

The PSP version boasts of co-op and competitive multiplayer modes and a skill development system to customize your board riders. Could this game turn out to be the next Tony Hawk's Pro Skater sort of success story and spin out to become a long line of sequels? Who knows. What do you think Shaun? Yup, he's still giving the thumbs up.

"SSX was a good game too. would've been a good psp game. "
If you are talking about SSX on PSP, there is an SSX PSP game out there....

seriously, i think exclusives for psp is dieing out. We need more exclusives. I check the us.playstation.com and they have ironman as one of the top games. Seriously guys, Ironman?
Hashbrown Hunter @ Sep 25th 2008 7:07PM
Yeah, the lack of exclusives is a little jarring, especially compared to the three megaton PSP games released earlier this year, but I think you should hold out hope or maybe look back and see what games you missed. I'm considering picking up Puzzle Quest from the PC Store because I missed it the first time around.

The market no longer favors exclusives. Look at the exclusives that PS3 lost to Xbox this year. Frankly, I think choice is a good thing because often one game may suck violently on one platform but for some odd change of creative choices be excellent on another. One good example of this would be the recent Star Wars Force Unleashed. The PSP version was quite good, but the DS version was lacking considerably by most accounts.

Only one im thinking of at the moment is Jeanne D'Arc and Secret Agent Clank, maybe N+ but I have been quite busy myself.
Another thing I would like to mention is how strange some sites ratings are on certain games. Plus, the fact that there aren't many games to look forward to. I agree resistance retribution sounds good but I haven't played a fps ( exception of gta, and starwars:battlefront II and R.S.) to date, they aren't my sort of thing. Same with Loco Roco 2. Only thing I am looking forward to is Patapon 2 and Gundam vs Gundam.
If Rockstar games came out with a new gta btw I can guarantee you it would bring psp back to life. Atleast for alittle bit, the amount of people I see playing GTA on their psps is amazing :/ Even though I'm not much of a GTA fan myself ( I gave up on the mission in gta:lcs where you had to save your boss on island 2 from a clash of gangs in an alleyway, it was too hard for me, and the boss had the nerve to ask me to bring his limousine T_T)
@ Hashbrown HunterI like your avvie btw :D

Sorry for the double post, didn't realize someone replied while I was typing
@Christoper, if the market no longer favors exclusives what is the point of having 3 consoles and 2 handhelds competing?
Christopher @ Sep 25th 2008 10:09PM
What I meant was that for third parties developers and publishers, the market no longer favors exclusives. In effect, for an exclusive to happen, the console company needs to give some sort of incentive for the exclusive to take place, like say pitching in for advertising. If there is no incentive, then the console company (like Sony for instance) is simply telling the publisher and developer that they can't market their game elsewhere with no incentive for them to take the deal. Who would agree to sell their game as an exclusive to one console with no incentives? Plus, many publishers likely feel that a good game can sell on it's own merits, so by selling on multiple consoles, they can likely double or triple their profits.
Make better sense?
Christopher @ Sep 25th 2008 10:13PM
One additional comment. You're thinking from a consumer mindset. Most people think about it that way, but you have to remember that they (developers and publishers) are thinking from a bottom line profit point of view. For them it's not about Sony vs. Nintendo vs. Microsoft. To them it's about how they can maximize profit and sell the most games. Hence the need for real incentives to go exclusive.
Hashbrown Hunter @ Sep 25th 2008 7:04PM
I just read the 1UP hands-on of the PSP version and they actually preferred it in a lot of ways compared to the console and the DS version. I may end up picking it up if I hear good things about the final version.
WhiteShield @ Sep 25th 2008 8:08PM
do you mean like how the psp version of force unleashed had special features that the creaters perfer the special aspects of the psp versus everything else?
Christopher @ Sep 25th 2008 10:03PM
It's good. There are a few minor glitches, but forgivable ones and don't dramatically affect the game. Primarily, your guy disappears while in battle some times, but his saber is still there. I think it's a camera glitch and you still give and take damage normally. It's also for only occasional seconds as well.
cafecito @ Sep 25th 2008 10:38PM
That's Shaun White? At first I though "what the heck is carrot top doin there?"
aj @ Sep 26th 2008 12:37AM
All of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games on the PSX hold fond memories of evenings spent around the 'ol PSX with my brother trying to have two-player death skates. If Shaun White's Snowboarding is half as fun as Tony Hawk, sign me up.

Well 2 out of the 12 Ubisoft PSP games where revealed... I wonder what will be next ;)
