Europeans: Check your emails for a Killzone 2 beta key

Forum goers all over the internet are reporting that Killzone 2 beta invites are being sent out to lucky European PSN users today. As if we weren't busy enough with the LittleBigPlanet beta. What's next? Resistance 2 beta starting early next week? Still, better to get these betas going before the huge rush of games this holiday. Our thumbs are already starting to get tired.

Did you manage to get hold of a Killzone 2 beta key? Let us know and, if you can, be sure to tell us what you think. If you didn't, better luck next time. Try to find someone who did and live vicariously through them until the beta ends.

None for me, not yet at least. Probably wont to be honest, I have been in loads of Betas and not one of them was from a lottery pick. :(

i am (not) proud to say i have never recieved a closed BETA invite...EVER. ive tried for every single beta you can think of LBP, SOCOM, Resistance, and NOTHING, i never get sent in any free emails such as this either, i spend hours on the beta give aways site, LBP on Euro gamer for instance and still no luck, this is just B*ll, i may as well give up trying, i know im not gonna get into the LBP gamespot beta either. T.T all you lucky f*ck better be happy.

Man I have never recieved any sort of beta invite either. When the Home beta invites were sent out and I saw people on the official community that had never posted or contributed in anyway getting beta codes and their baby Sisters and their sub accounts getting beta invites I figured there was no real rational method to how they are given out.
Some people get invites for everything, many others get nothing even if they are very active in the community. It doesn't seem fair but then Sony obviously doesn't mind people that aren't really interested in participating in the community being testers for the Sony community.

Yeah, im not that active on the official EU forums BUT i play PS3 online for i cant even count how many hours, night and [day (when im availible of course)
but, yet, no BETA key for me, i may as well give up all hope lol.

Yeah, I got one. So far the graphics are super sweet. I haven't been able to get a good game in (for some reason I can't join any servers). But I gotta keep my mouth shut about this, the Dev's are really strict about it.

As you may know, beta testers are under a non-disclosure agreement that should be respected.

Speaking of beta's I got a Home beta key in my email which somehow I missed, I have to say its absolutely terrible. They might as well just scratch the whole thing now. Its just beyond pointless and there is literally nothing to do.

You do know the whole point of a beta is to test core functions?

And you can; bowl, voice chat, create avatars, emote/interact, play chess, decorate your home space, go shopping(sort of), play at least 3 different arcade machines, play pool.. Start custom Warhawk sessions, make friends.. There are always a lot of people online (though sometimes you have to jump to other nations servers to get the big groups, but that's only because it's beta so there aren't 1000s of people on at a time..)

Some of the comments about Home annoy me, the overly critical closed mindedness of certain observers is the exact reason Sony are taking so long making sure they get it right.. Then you get into the beta and complain that there's "nothing to do?"

1) Yes there is. 2) It's not finished yet.

You must not discuss the Beta Tests with anyone except us and other people taking part in the Beta Tests (“Beta Testers”). In particular, you must not discuss the Beta Tests with anyone associated with a competing videogame format or publisher, a news or information service (whether television, magazine, newspaper or otherwise) or in any online forum or chat room, other than our official Beta Test forum. Any codes or passwords which give access to test software or Beta Test forums are personal to you and must not be shared with anyone else.

i got it his morning and its amazing! i have been waiting for something to put the CoD4 smoothness to shame. this game is going to be huge just wait and see. the camera is fantastic, the effects are truly imersive. top notch!!!

well, been playing killzone 2 beta and....................

ITS FREAKIN AWESOME. graphics are brilliant and gameplay is good and satisfying, everything is done very well. Actually, kinda surprised at the quality of this game.

I got in, for all the people asking, to get in the closed beta tests in the EU you need to be a member of the official beta testers. Its not like the US where regular forum members get in, they recruit every now and then. I personally joined right at the start with Socom 1, in early 03.

As for Resistance 2, has the US not had it yet? We had it like 4 weeks ago?

As Exergy says, Europeans got the Resistance 2 Beta since 4 weeks ago or something...

Anyway, Killzone 2 Beta..ROCKS. Totally Rocks.
I mean, three different scenarios, 2 factions to choose, earn points and become General (since Sargent you can command squads), usual game modes (objects, zone, flag) and astonishing graphics. Really, astounding.

I mean, it's an online game and we were like 30 people in that scenario and no fracking lag. And, repeat, AMAZING graphics. MGO looks like barbie 3-D when you look K2.

BTW, i just played for an hour. Get that? Now guess what a full night playing this can do to my mind... :D

Yeah sad news for alot of us about the beta testing so far, i got the demo code through for motorstorm that's all but my friend who is a beta tester has killzone 2 amongst others and he said that it is really good so far and says equal to COD 4 so that's good news.
