Sony announces more sites for LittleBigPlanet beta keys
Some of you were lucky enough to have your LittleBigPlanet beta keys and are enjoying some fun with Sackboy right now (*ahem* Andrew *ahem*), but others aren't so lucky. Fortunately, the guys over at PlayStation.Blog just complied a list of where you will find LittleBigPlanet beta keys in the "the next few days." They have listed IGN, 1UP, Gametrailers and the official LBP news site but no additional information was provided. Needless to say, we'll update you guys as soon as more information leaks out. G4 has release partial details for their beta key giveaway; tune in to their X-Play show at 8PM on Tuesday, September 30th for a chance to win one of their 2,000 beta keys.
PS.Blog also provided instructions on how to install the beta if you managed to obtain a voucher, so check that out after the jump.
Please note the following instructions below which will help you install the Public Beta voucher:
1) Public Beta Ends October 11th, 2008
2) You must use a consumer PLAYSTATION® 3 system that is connected to the internet.
3) You must have a PLAYSTATION®Network Account.
4) If you have previously redeemed a LBP voucher code, you must delete any old LBP data (along with save data and game data) and download this version (go to Download History and redownload the new code).
5) This version does not require a DNS redirect and levels created here will be available for consumers at launch of the full title.
6) Please refrain from creating anything inappropriate, as we do have moderation in place and it may result in your account being suspended or banned.
Downloading the LittleBigPlanet Public Beta.
After you have signed in with your PLAYSTATION Network Account, select [Account Management] on the XMB interface located under the 'PLAYSTATION Network' tab, then select [Transaction Management] and click on the option 'Redeem PLAYSTATION Network Card or Promotion Code'. Enter the following unique code to start the download of LittleBigPlanet.

hey_big_dck psn:fuliano626 @ Sep 26th 2008 4:15PM
that sounds simple enough its nice to know there are more beta keys out there since i don't think i am going to get one from gamespot since i still have not heard from them :(.
TinyTim121 @ Sep 26th 2008 4:15PM
Ah...i see more sites we need to sign up to and crash lol
Off Topic
I got the UK OPM issue today - Gave LittleBigPlanet a 10/10
Good points is pretty self explanatory (apparently its everything we were told)
And bad points were that the training videos are really slow - baby steps and that you can't use an item before watching the corresponding training video
Yet, seeing as the magazine is giving away LBP codes and all sorts of goodies...i wonder if Sony did what Konami did with MGS4...as there's no mention of the LBP meter limits I've heard about
Oh and i cba to grab quotes as the magazines downstairs but yeah - that's all what i remember from the review...it sounds like a great game though...mostly praise throughout the review

MUST GET KEY!!!
rgoff31 @ Sep 26th 2008 4:32PM
I still get a chuckle out of number 6. No Sporn people.
Tested or added accounts to those sites already. I had forgotten my eurogamer password for that giveaway.
Kevin @ Sep 26th 2008 4:36PM
Did Gamespot send out their keys already?
Brett @ Sep 26th 2008 5:00PM
Apparently around 7pm PST. Why so late, no idea.
Brettski @ Sep 26th 2008 4:42PM
After the debacle last night I think i can wait 1 month for the game. I say "Meh" to the beta. Not worth spending a couple of hours and losing 30 minutes of my life due to stress in order to play the beta. Hate me if you want, but last night was lame.
343 Guilty Fart @ Sep 26th 2008 5:26PM
I absolutely positively 100 bonafide percent concur. That was just terribly handled and they should straight up fire the people involved.
In other news, thanks for posting this Alan, it makes my beta searching life much easier!
Jon @ Sep 26th 2008 4:43PM
ugh! i hope i can get a beta key... i'm so anxious to play!! does any one know how big the file is if we get a voucher?
diogovans @ Sep 26th 2008 5:37PM
900 mb:)
thegreatcity @ Sep 26th 2008 4:47PM
Confused...still UK beta keys, or are these for a US beta?
j.howlett @ Sep 26th 2008 5:09PM

BananaBoat @ Sep 26th 2008 7:06PM
I got into the beta early today via the Australian allotment of keys. I had all but given up on getting a key, since gamespot hadn't sent one yet, but then there it was in my inbox.
So far the game is pretty good, with the exception of the controls. The fact that the world is 2D, yet psuedo-3D, makes it very hard to control your sackboy sometimes. If people create two layers to their levels, it becomes almost impossible.
Other than that, I'm having a blast. It would have been nice had all the available materials (stickers, etc) been available in the Beta from the start (instead of making people play tutorial levels to get them) but now that I have a bunch, making levels is actually quite entertaining.
If you can't get in, don't worry, because this is only a limited (and old) build of the game. The full game is out in a couple of weeks, so you might just be better off waiting at this point.
If I get any extra keys, I'll pass them along. I signed up for like 5 at gamespot, then some on a few European sites, so there are still quite a bit in the wind for me right now. I can't believe it's the AUSSIES that came through and got me a code, considering they only got like 200, and gamespot got 2000, but whatever.
Good luck

Yeah, I'm one of the aussies that missed out on that giveaway. I don't begrudge you yanks for trying, but it's damn annoying to see people in the US playstation forums getting an AU code and then asking how to set up an AU account. I mean, it would have been dead easy to match email addresses against all existing AU accounts. Sony Australia, you fail.
BananaBoat @ Sep 27th 2008 11:49AM
Would have been easy to block any Aussie accounts created in the past day as well (as most of them are). I wouldn't have tried to get aussie codes, if I didn't know that there were going to be 20+ thousand American codes for everyone on the planet to fight over come monday. Just like they couldn't keep me from getting an Aussie code, there is no way they can keep you guys from getting an American one. Oh, and anyone that can't figure out how to set up an Aussie/American/UK account, is a gigantic moron. It's the same language! I somehow managed to get myself a Japanese account, despite speaking none of the language, and some people are having problems getting an account in their native language? Wtf?
Steps:
1: Create new account (on your PS3. NOT a new PSN account at this point. Just a new account that you can select when your PS3 boots)
2: Sign up for Aussie/UK/American/Whatever account, by googling for the address of a McDonalds in the capital city of the country in question (In my case, it was a McDonalds in melbourne, and another in Tokyo).
3: Use a junk email
4: ????
5: Profit.
LatinoLA1 @ Sep 26th 2008 6:25PM
This is cool, ill try my luck again, which hasn't gotten me into any beta but worth a try i guess....
And any one know if the LBP keys from the last thing on gamespot get e-mailed to people yet?
Tom @ Sep 26th 2008 7:27PM
Hey Bananaboat what's your email address? If you get any extra beta codes could you send one to me?
Thanks,
Tom
Andy @ Sep 29th 2008 2:53PM

CrashSpyro123 @ Sep 26th 2008 8:36PM
Game Informer's also randomly sending out codes to the emails of subscribers, so people with GI subs should check their email as I just got one to get in.
freeblue @ Sep 26th 2008 9:06PM
they only give it out to NEW subscribers :( those bitches. they screwed me twice.. one for being the old subscriber, and other for the magazine subscription.
gamespot, ign and LBP.com are my only chances :) *cross fingers :)
Samuraidino @ Sep 26th 2008 8:52PM

boots555 @ Sep 27th 2008 12:08PM
