FYI: I saw Eye of Judgement on clearance at two different Targets this week for $34.95! That's less than the cost of a new PSEye by itself!
Shader @ Sep 26th 2008 9:55AM
Cool! I don't actually have this game, but it does sound intriguing. I just don't want to end up having to buy loads of cards just to progress through the game.
black_ryuk @ Sep 26th 2008 10:09AM
Wait wait wait......so to get the trophies you just have to vs. those decks........so how do you do that now......i know the starter and fire crusader....but how do you get the others?
Christian @ Sep 26th 2008 12:44PM
If you beat Fire Crusader it will unlock the next one and so on.
black_ryuk @ Sep 26th 2008 12:51PM
oooooooooo......i never tried it b4.....thanks
sintax @ Sep 26th 2008 10:31AM
picked that Target clearance bundle up myself for that price. Haven't played EOJ yet but am using the PSEye with LBP beta.
warlock7 @ Sep 26th 2008 10:39AM
doesn't countless imply infinite? So, you can never get the gold and thereby never get the platinum?!?!?
niko @ Sep 26th 2008 11:42AM
correct. You can't get the gold one or platinum. It's a conspiracy, I tell you!
srsly.
khaliel @ Sep 26th 2008 1:17PM
Countless doesn't mean infinity. Countless means "a huge amount". Like 100 times.
warlock7 @ Sep 26th 2008 3:33PM
Countless cleary indicates something which is too big to count, like an infinite value. 200 would be easily countable, not "countless". Perhaps you should get a dictionary...
In other words,it's a stupid way to word the trophy, as it doesn't make any sense.
Eric E @ Sep 26th 2008 10:50AM
do you need the expansions? or if you just have the original and update it, you can get trophies?
fiziks @ Oct 17th 2008 2:55AM
you need not the expansions, if I count right you can get about 14 of these without the set 2 and 3 add-ons.. I have two of them already (and I don't own the add-ons)... 163 trophies and counting - PSN: Thetruefiziks
Real Gambler @ Sep 26th 2008 11:39AM
In theory, you could get all the trophies with only set 1 cards. After all, you can beat all the decks and challenges with any cards, but I have to admit that doing it with only set 1 cards is quite likely a weeeeebit harder.
So the only unknown is really "victory in countless duels" were I'm hoping it's a fix number, like having 200 victory in your online stats. It's quite likely since otherwise, gold and platinium would be pretty much the same. (Let say you get gold if you're the guy with the most victory, then you would also be the only one having the platinium... Doesn't make sense.)
Wey-Pooh @ Oct 16th 2008 11:47PM
Correct. You can beat ALL decks using ONLY Set 1 cards, but you CANNOT Unlock Set 2 Theme Decks, or Set 3, if you don't have both expansions. If you're going for the Platinum, you're going to need both expansions.
fiziks @ Sep 26th 2008 1:31PM
I don't understand, how do you get these bronze trophies? how do i battle vs. a premade deck? I have a pack of each (fire, earth, water, wood, biolith, starter) but I took them all out of the pack and put them into one container, how do I battle a wood deck, for example, if I don't know which cards are IN the wood deck. Same with my starter deck, I deleted the starter deck from "deck builder" and all that remains is my official deck for online play? so how do I battle vs. each?!!?!!?
Gambit07 @ Sep 26th 2008 2:14PM
I got this game a few days ago, yes from Target, I really like it, played online yesterday, got my ass whipped. Now, I don't get this VS. set thing... can you play against the comp. with those sets? is that even possible? or you would need to find someone online or play someone live who has that specific set? also, what are these "completion of challenges"? I couldn't find anything about that in the game. Lastly, anybody know any retail store in the LA area that sells these cards, I couldn't find 'em anywhere. Much appreciated!
Popfrogs @ Sep 29th 2008 1:16AM
The key to beating people online is remembering the entire purpose of the game: occupying spaces. Don't try to save up mana for 4 turns to spawn an expensive card.
Start with the starter deck, try to fill up the field as fast as possible and keep a close eye on your hand. It isn't about doing battle. That's the biggest downfall of EoJ noobs. I have beat people that are dropping 10 mana cards with the starter deck and weakling 1 mana spawns, many times.
Also, don't underestimate the value of certain cards because they're "cheap". 2 of the deadliest cards are the venoan assassin and the elven berserker maiden. Dropping the maiden on a non-wood panel kills her HP but gives her +2 attack and a dodge attempt. Chances are your opponent won't be able to hit her, and will die trying. Also she has a ranged attack and can hit +1 square away.
One other thing to remember is cards that have "Perfect Dodge" can be invaluable. Dropping a biolith ninja on the center square can seal it up for you for the entire round. Like the venoan assassin, he'll always attack the back of his target. He is somewhat expensive but a great asset against a skilled opponent.

To answer your question these all look to be playing against the computer. You basically selecet player vs computer and select the deck the computer has. The Challenges happen after you beat the computer every theme deck per set. Then you get challenges. Like Beat the computer without using a magic spell or something like that. Hope that answers your questions.
I am like surprised that that they have no trophies for online play. But I think this is a great game.
fiziks @ Sep 26th 2008 7:41PM
wizards of the coast sells the cards but i bought mine at walmart--- Q. ...so let's say i have only the 30 starter cards.. and when i battle the computer (starter vs. starter) and win, this unlocks a new unofficial deck for playing offline (even though i never registered the cards on deck builder)?
Gambit07 @ Sep 26th 2008 8:35PM
@Godzilla, so I just baught the Water Barrage 30 card pack, do all the cards inside = Water Barrage theme deck?
Popfrogs @ Sep 29th 2008 1:17AM
Lucky bastard. I tried sitting through all 80 minutes of that annoying Gamespot thing yesterday but I couldn't keep watching. The fifth time that lame girl nagged people about the beta I closed the window.
Sinistar @ Sep 26th 2008 7:55PM
I just picked up this game last week @ Target clearance sale.. I haven't opened it yet. I was planning to this weekend. Looks like the game is pretty complicated.
Ted @ Sep 26th 2008 11:25PM

It's easy to understand and really fun + It works great also

BrennaCeDria @ Nov 10th 2008 8:51PM
Picked up the Wal-Mart $30 pack today, plan on trying it out later tonight. Even if I don't like the game, I got the Eye for $30, and I can use it with LBP. Sounds like a /WIN to me!
