Canada gets Nariko LBP pre-order from Future Shop

People who pre-order LittleBigPlanet in the United States already know where to go, but the Canadians up north ... they're still wondering what's to become of the second half of their early-payment campaign. While it's been know for some time now that Canucks could get the adorable Kratos Sackboy from EB Games, it's only now that we find out that Nariko Sackgirl will be available via Future Shop.

That's all according to the Future Shop website as pointed out by one of our Canadian readers. Now all that's left is for Media Molecule to confirm this and it's solid as gold.

really i got my code right wen i pre ordered mine in DE... they also gave me a fake lbp cover which i use to fool ppl into thinkin i got the game lol i think if u pre order b4 8/20/08 u dont get a code

I think I ordered it too early on the web, getting that whole deal fixed with customer service for now, as I pre-ordered from BB the day it was announced, which was before their online store was updated.

My thoughts exactly. I dislike buying from EB Games but if that's what it takes to get a pre-order bonus from this awesomely raved game instead of a $70 tag price (and that's without the down payment), I'm not going to buy this from Future Shop.

Let's hope that this is a price error.

Its not. I picked up today although I do not think they were suppose to sell it to me. The price is $59.99 canadian. I think the website is just a mistake. I put down a $5.00 deposit and the balance is $54.99.

You don't pay $10 extra. I went to Future Shop yesterday and one store accidentally had the cases on the shelf. They told me it was $59.99. IT did not have the code inside at the time and they had no idea what I was talking about. So I did not pick it up. Dum me.

I had second thoughts today and went back and they had pulled the case off the shelf so I inquired and the employee could not find them but had one sitting right by his computer for some reason. I asked if I could buy it and he said sure. The code for Nariko was inside this time. So I guess they pulled them and inserted the cards with the code BUT I was lucky they had one there. I think its because they might be advertising it this week mayber.

So I paid a $5 deposit for the game and the balance will be $54.99.

Needless to say I was thrilled. Maybe the first to get in my area.... not that that really matters. Just thrilled I got it finally with less than month to go for launch.

So the price is $59.99 canadian folks. Apparently the free content (Nariko) is valued at 4.99 from what I have seen.

Futureshop can be such a greedy company with prices on some things. But this $69.99CDN price scared me at first because I was worried the video game prices in Canada was going up $10 again. I hope it stays the way it is though now with our prices being the same as the American price. I never wanted the Nariko DLC Costume anyways and pre-ordered the game at EB Games and got the Kratos voucher. But to all those who have been waiting I am finally glad that its been announced.

The price is probably an error on Futureshops part.

I've always found Future Shop to have relatively good prices / exchange rates, compared to other non-game-only stores (like HMV, for instance). They don't respond as quickly as EB, but they do regularly have small discounts. Still, I get 20% off at FS, Toys R Us, HBC, and SonyStore, so my impressions may be biased (NB correct use of this word).

I'm confused. I just ordered this costume for $4.99 with free shipping and it says it will ship on Oct 21, the day of the game release. But in the fine print, it says on the item page "This bonus gift is not for sale. Not applicable to previous purchases and not to be purchased separately - any gifts ordered separately will be cancelled." So why did they allow me to purchase it separately for $4.99? Are they going to cancel it? I already ordered at Amazon, I only want the costume.

What you paid for was only the deposit if you bought it through Futureshop. All I think they are saying is that the costume, Nariko, has a value of $4.99. That tells me that probably down the road others after LBP launches will be able to buy the Nariko and Kratos costumes online for the price. Which to me is still a lot.

If you just wanted the costume I would wait until LBP launches and see if you can buy on PSN when other costumes become available for purchase. If not, cancel you Amazon order and go out to a Futureshop when they start advertising it unless you are lucky as I was. The prices is 59.99 WITH the Nariko voucher. You only have to put a $5.00 deposit down and when the game comes out you go back to FS and pay ONLY the balance of $54.99.

I would not buy anything from Futureshop online, especially if you can get it in store.

The fact that Futureshop has it online for me was only an indication IT was the store offering the Nariko costume on pre-order.

Well, the FS site said that one location has the pre-order box in stock. Went there and they gave a hard time like the first store I tried, saying that it would not be available til Oct 21. So I pressured him and he sent me to another guy who just grabbed it off the shelf. So be keeping an eye on the site if you want one.

BTW FS support got back to me and said yes, my order will be cancelled.

I went to futureshop and they didn't know what I was talking about. That there is no pre-order for that game, and that it won't be released in a while. I told him otherwise so he checked the store's computer. He was then surprised to see that it is coming out on the 21st. He said there is still no pre-order yet. The price on the computer said $69.99.

So I went to Ebgames and got the Kratos voucher after putting down $5 dollars. I asked the price of the game and he said $59.

I know what you are saying.I went to a few of Future Shops and they did not know what I was talking about.
It would seem Future Shop has messed up here. Heck some did not even know what LBP was.

I was in the store in my area few days ago and they had all the pre-order cases on the shelf. The next day they took them down. Reason being I am sure that they were not to go on the shelves yet. BUT they had one by the clerk I was chatting with and I bought it thru them.

Like I have said before... I guess I am lucky. My hope is that they will be doing advertising in the next week or two because the launch day is fast approaching. If those interested can hold out... wait a little longer. It could also be that MM has to announce it first.

I printed out the product page for the $4.99 costume and went to FS in Kingston. The guy said they didn't have that and he hasn't seen it anywhere or gotten it in. He tried to show me that the release date said Oct 21, and I told him that someone else found it in-store already. He said that was very surprising, and that sometimes they get something in early, and that must be what's going on. I thought "yeah right, you got it in a month early?" So he was pretty clueless but apparently they didn't have it in stock.

I went to Future Shop and I saw the "preorder" pack for $5.00. I paid the 5 bucks and the girl said to bring the receipt in for the pick up. But, they never asked for a name, number and the reciept said nothing. So, I swallowed the five bucks and did the pre-order through EB Games. I'll have BOTH Kratos and Nariko on launch day.
