PES 2009 demo hits Europe this week
Not too long ago we got our foots-on with Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, and if you've read that, you're probably in need of some PES 09 yourself. So much so that the lack of digitized turf could turn otherwise normal citizens into the violent, angry, we're-going-to-tear-up-the-stadium type of football fanatics we see on the TV. Gallantly, Konami saves us from a riot by giving the football hooligans their prince's ransom. Expect a demo out this Thursday along with the weekly PS Store update in Europe.

Gaucho @ Sep 29th 2008 11:36AM
anyone else notice that the picture is of some neo-nazi rally/riot thing.
Radek @ Sep 29th 2008 11:59AM

How did you know? Was it something you saw on the banners? If this is true, what a case of faux pas.

Apparently in PES09 the skills are automatic which is pathetic I mean look at what EA is doing, the amount of realistic skills they have incorporated into the game is excellent.
I was hoping PES09 would finally add some new skills and animations to the new version but what do I know they actually managed to take away what works without adding anything new.
But EA ‘s game is too sloppy for my taste if only the game play was as good as PES standards.

Watch the above video to see why the Marseille turn is so important in the game to make it automatic is useless.
Hopefully Konami gives you the option to configure your own controls so you can still use the right analogue stick to the 360 turn manually.

I find that picture deeply offensive.
Majed Athab @ Sep 29th 2008 12:33PM
No problem, we'll change it if you find it offensive. The intention was just to have a picture of a wild football crowd.
sw @ Sep 29th 2008 1:26PM
I find removing it offensive. Put it back.
edmosk @ Sep 29th 2008 12:26PM
what do skinheads have to do with the psn?
Damian @ Sep 29th 2008 12:29PM
That looks like Paulo Maldini in the bottom left with the bowl head and late eighties rave top on .
agreed most likely Lazio fans ,been to a few games over there and its a bit nutty for sure.
Mind you they could be Scots fans , they have a terrible reputation , remember Manchester last year . he he ;)
good job I hate Mancs.
Hakan @ Sep 29th 2008 12:49PM
Fenerbahçe fans in the picture.
ScottishPrik @ Sep 29th 2008 1:09PM
That picture symbolises every stereotypical football fan in one picture
yehmate @ Sep 29th 2008 1:19PM
if you remember the jump from pes2 to pes 3.the (gameplay)difference was amazing, seabass reckons its like that.if it is ,it will be great.however masterleague still sucks and has barely changed at all(ugh...cmon konami sort it).heres hoping the demo is good and the online is sorted.
Three @ Sep 29th 2008 2:23PM
They are Fenerbahçe fans in the picture.
clink @ Sep 29th 2008 2:23PM
The team they support is Fenerbahce.
Quite surprised to see the picture of it there, maybe cause of last year's Champion's League nice results of Fenerbahce.
shave the ignorance @ Sep 29th 2008 7:55PM
its from turkey, fenerbahce sukru saracoglu stadium.
you have to be a true idiot to even claim it is somehow nazi related. just pure fan behavior, goodness you are pathetic.
Majed Athab @ Sep 29th 2008 7:57PM
Those comments were referring to a picture we removed. We changed the original picture because people were associating the image of regular football hooligans with something out of context.
bruce @ Sep 30th 2008 12:52AM
best fans in the world
john @ Dec 4th 2008 9:40PM
just saw this demo review! http://ninsox.com/ps3/pro-evolution-soccer-2009-demo-review-ps3/

well, played both the fifa 09 and PES 09 demo, and without a doubt, hands down, FIFA has won it, no problem. PES is identical, just looks a little bit better. No real extra skills and tricks.
The last time i actually owned FIFA (football) was something like '95/'96 - been on PES ever since. But this year, theres just no way - if the demo is anything to go by, then PES 2009 is a complete flop!
fifa demo - 7/10 ------- PES 2009 demo - 4/10 (cause it is hardly new, and definately not worth £40/45!)
