BioShock goes gold, cue Rapture-ous applause

Don't forget, the game will be launching with trophies (check out the full list, unless you're spoilerphobic) and will feature post-launch DLC. This will take the form of various challenge rooms, where you will need to solve various puzzles in order to protect precariously placed Little Sisters. Now that the game has gone gold, we'd be surprised if it misses its October 21st (US) and 17th (internationally) release date. Will you be picking up a copy?

I remember enjoying the demo on the 360 when it first came out. Not sure I want to spend money on a game this is a year old with all these new games coming out in Oct. that i really want. Damn you Sony damn you for waiting until the same month to put out all these good games. My pockets can't handle the load.

I'm picking up a copy in the long run, but unless it launches at a price point ($39.99) then I'll hold off for a bit. Fallout 3, LBP, Dead Space, Resistance 2, Mirror's Edge, Prince of Persia, Far Cry 2... man, whoever said the economy is struggling didn't look at the Video Game industries' holiday release schedule.

I am a little tempted to get a copy, but I simply got to many games I haven't played enough after buying them and already got pre-orders on a few more. Can't help but feel buying Bioshock might end up like my COD4 copy, collecting dust after just a couple of hours of play.

I know I will pick up a copy... but not probably at launch. I'm not sure yet.

"Will you be picking up a copy?"
Nope. The game's coming out at a time when there are already a BIG set of PS3 games coming out. LBP, Motorstorm2, Resistance2, and so on. Followed up by something call Killzone2 in February ;-). This is not the best time to be releasing a year old game.

Biochock has been on the PC just as long as on the Xbox 360. And if anything it's the best version of the three.

I'm interested in it, but Wipeout HD & LBP will keep me busy for a very long time.

If it doesn't play like a "port" all choppy like a lot of "ports" then I might pick up a copy. if it runs like a "port" I'm not buying it.

I was about to give up and build a computer to play this, but the news had me wait off for this.
Problem is LBP and all the other games coming. But this is 2nd on my list after LBP

I was gonna get this game but when i found out when it was being Released haha it's no way i can get it i have 3 games already pre-ordered. i like Bioshock's demo on the 360 .. but i'l wait another while to get it that's for sure
linebeginstoblur @ Sep 30th 2008 12:37PM
I agree with what a lot of people have already said. There are enough games I've already preordered this season, including a shooter that I'm already more excited for (R2), and plus, it's disappointing to see it go for $59.99 when the PC and Xbox 360 versions are in between $20-30. Yes, I'd like it, because I'm interested to see what's so cool about it that won so many praise and awards... but I'm just going to wait until Greatest Hits.

iv well overplayed the lbp beta and considering getting this or something else instead but im not sure yet, but will deff be picking it up sometime this year it looks great!
Chris @ Sep 30th 2008 2:30PM
All my October time and cash are going to Fallout 3, but this will be joining LBP on my Christmas wish list!
bkalasin @ Sep 30th 2008 7:06PM
Has it been confirmed at $60?
If so, I'll be waiting for a price drop. Can't afford more than one game a month, and LBP trumps all others in October.
