Ask PSP Fanboy: Volume 42

It's the end of the week, which calls for a new volume of Ask PSP Fanboy! Each week we'll collect your questions, and each weekend a new volume of Ask PSP Fanboy will appear on the front page. If you've got a question, send an email to justin.eaton @ weblogsinc .com with the subject "Ask PSP Fanboy."

Q. I heard that Mega Man 9 isn't playable on the PSP. Why would it not be?
A. Mega Man 9 was developed for PS3, Wii, and XBLA. I'm not sure that there are technical limitations in the game, I believe it's just a matter of which platforms they felt would benefit most. I would love to see Mega Man on the PSP, but that's up to the developers. Considering PSP's ability to play downloadable games, this seems like a no-brainer.
Q. Do you think SCEI will release a "PSP-4000" model? If so, what do hope they will change?
A. With the PSP-3000 just around the corner, I'd like to think we have some time before another model. With that said, I would like to see some internal flash memory.
Q. With the PSP 3000 launching next month, do you think many retail outlets will clearance out their stocks of the PSP 2000s?
A. We might see a few sales here and there, but they'll likely be online, or on an individual basis. Sony hasn't announced any plans to discount them before the PSP-3000 launch.

Q. When the PSP-3000 comes out in October will just be in the Ratchet and Clank bundle or will they have core systems too?
A. The PSP-3000 will launch on October 14th in the Ratchet & Clank Entertainment Pack , with a Core Pack coming "later this year." I would assume sometime between November and the holidays.
Q. I'm really excited about LittleBigPlanet on the PS3, do you think they'll make a version for the PSP too?
A. For now, Media Molecule is focusing on the launch of the PS3 game, but they've confirmed that they were discussing a possible PSP version. Stay tuned.

Mega Man 9 can stay on the PS3. Throwing my Dualshock 3 to the ground is less costly than my PSP

It would be nice to see the price of the PSP drop in general. The added costs on top of the cost of the thing itself make it pretty ridiculous. And let's face it, if more people buy a PSP, we'll get more games. The only reason the DS has so many titles is because every other person has one. I see old ladies sitting outside of office buildings on their smoke break playing with a DS. It's ridiculous.

With the price of memory constantly going down, why would you want the next model to include flash memory?
I'd like one that has 2-4 ports for memory sticks. That would get a little confusing, maybe, but that would be most cost effective for people....
Vidaluko @ Oct 5th 2008 2:43AM
No, it would be better to the PSP have an internal memory, like 1GB, for game saves, replays, wallpapers, themes, custom soundtrack for games like GTA or PES 08, and a Pro Duo Slot for a Stick, for mp3 music, movies, pictures, etc.

Forget about Megaman 9. Gimme Maverick Hunter X2 Capcom! ... Pleez?

I agree with alien, any successful title for ps2 or ps3 has come to psp.

But then we'll go back right to the beginning of the PSP when everybody complained that 'there are too many PS2 ports'. It's a catch 22 situation!
