Eternal Sonata confirmed for Europe in February 2009

Looks like Eternal Sonata is finally headed Europe's way this upcoming February, one year and four months after the release of the Xbox 360 version of the title. No exact date was announced, but we'll let you know as soon as that information becomes available.
Namco Bandai promises more than just a straight port of the game: players who are willing give this title a chance will be treated to exclusive quests, multiple endings, new playable characters Crescendo and Serenade, new costumes and additional tunes from famed Polish composer Frederic Chopin. Still on the fence about this JRPG? Check out our hands-on impressions with the demo here. Are these new extras enticing enough for you to purchase a port of a game that's more than a year old?

im not sure about this RPG...i mean its all text and stuff that is so 360... cheap RPG...make this a PSN download for $19 and i will probably buy this.
zaxonzaxon @ Oct 6th 2008 2:18PM
No trophies, no thanks.
Gman @ Oct 6th 2008 2:24PM
Its not the lack of trophies that will make me not buy it, its the sheer crappiness of the demo.
Eric E @ Oct 6th 2008 2:26PM
Its either this or Valkryie Chronicles, haven't decided, i'll play both eventually though.
Most of my time will be bioshock and LBP at first anyway.
Kholar @ Oct 6th 2008 2:33PM
For now this is the only confirmed true turn based rpg until White Knight, so what's there to think about? Valkryia Chronicles will be good but it's a strategy rpg with action elements. It's just not the same.
Erwos @ Oct 7th 2008 9:29AM
It's not really a turn-based RPG, not in the traditional sense of things. IMHO, Enchanted Arms is closer.

I'm buying it! I played and beat it on 360 and I enjoyed it.
I will buy it because I like it.
Haohmaru @ Oct 6th 2008 2:47PM
Day One - this and Valkyria Chronicles.
Gambit07 @ Oct 6th 2008 3:50PM
did not enjoy the fighting system in the demo.

I'll get it; I liked the demo. I liked the attack system, much more interesting and more involved than most action RPGs, and it helps to plan things out rather than just button-mash.
Will the European version have more content than the US version? If so then I'm happy to wait until February to get it - there are enough games coming out soon to keep me amused for a fair few months anyway.

Day 1 along with Little Big Planet and Farcry 2 or Bioshock.

Coming with a budget price? Like 9.99 € ? That's what the 360 version is going for. The extra stuff doesn't justify it being full price game.
Emophia @ Oct 6th 2008 5:00PM
I'm importing.
Yazuka @ Oct 6th 2008 5:22PM
I'll be importing my copy.
RagingStormX @ Oct 6th 2008 5:37PM
Reminds me of Radiata Stories......I'm getting it.
Darlaten @ Oct 7th 2008 1:34AM
Eternal Sonata is a great game with a unique story - one that is not the traditional story found in so many RPG's. It is also is a beautiful looking game that is absolutely unique.
I got it for my Xbox360 and will be getting it for the PS3.

I liked this demo, but all I'm looking for is whether Kingdom hearts 3 is actually confirmed at TGS as confirmed in OPM... I absolutely love RPGs like Kingdom hearts and a next gen version would be perfect... hey.. whilst on the subject... when are Birth by sleep or 358/2 days coming out :S

I only completed one battle before the meh-monster sucked me down. I'm unsure how something new can be entirely been there done that. But there you have it.
The initial battle was so easy that I was bored fairly quickly.
In fact the challenge found in today's game is so low that the only thing that gets my brain fiendishly firing synapses from the very beginning is Warhawk. Even COD4 is too easy. Disgaea too easy, VC too easy. Cross Edge has me interested, but it feels kinda easy too. These games, may get tougher further in, but by then they have lost me. IMO Military Madness and Culdcept (and of course WH) had the perfect mix of "OMFG this computer cheats" and "OMFG one more try".

Battle for Hill 218 is mean also and a free download for the masochistic.

I have it for 360, I'm DLing the PS3 demo to see if it REALLY looks any better over HDMI... if there's one game to show off your HDTV this is it!
