Rumor: Disney characters set to invade LittleBigPlanet

According to the rumor section of the latest edition of Electronic Gaming Monthly, future LittleBigPlanet DLC will include characters from Disney and other non-Sony properties. The rumor also stated that characters from third-party titles will make an appearance. EGM doesn't provide a date or otherwise elaborate on the gossip -- how do you guys feel about this? Are you looking forward to seeing a Sackboy version of Jafar terrorize your LittleBigPlanet or would your rather not have LBP become Kingdom Hearts?

I would love to see the Disney characters in LBP. It could make for some very fun levels and draw still more people into gaming.

Jafar is the ONLY cool disney character, in my opinion. i think this feature should be welcomed, despite my general hate for disney, because your not forced to buy the characters. Its your choice.

Sounds interesting 2 b honest i'm not that interested in the characters as I am interested in the level creating. But it's definitely going to get the game more noticed and maybe attract a broader audience.

While I'm not really a Disney fan, I look forward to seeing other games have a presence in LBP and other games. I would even like to see new levels created by devs of new games as a way of advertising, but giving me something enjoyable from it instead of just a boring picture or commercial.

I figure the more costume bits the better! I don't really care otherwise as the only side effect will be more players and more levels :)

Would rather see looney toons characters like, marvin the martian, Wile e coyote, yosemite sam, daffy, sylvester and Taz ... Ren & stimpy characters would also be cool

Pixar is owned by Disney. You'll probably get Pixar characters as well.

Well the Kingdom Hearts games are amazing, and in this game's lighter atmosphere it would probably work out ok.

First off.... I dont want Disney actually MAKING it. Secondly Disney levels would be a must with the characters. Maybe Sora to go with his friends and tie it into the playstation identity a bit more

I could see the Disney universe bringing some cool assets (building tools) to LBP but the characters...meh.

Personally I'm happy with the sackboys/girls. I don't need to see anyone running around as Mickey Mouse.

I've been trying LBP out over the weekend and one thing I kept thinking was: this game offers so many possibilities for DLC. It's endlessly expandable. Disney? Sure why not... I hope it doesn't stop there though.

Disney characters....good move. It wud only attract more buyers... more parents coppin the game and the system for their kids.. win win situation!

Why would anyone oppose to have DLC of Disney stuff? It is family friendly and you only have to get it if you want to. I am all for it, as my two daughters would probably relate more to LBP if Disney characters were in it. I am really excited for my girls.. They are going to love LBP.

Say you get 10 trophies in Warhawk that then triggers an unlocked say a Warhawk outfit or something like that in Little Big Planet. It could even simple stuff like stickers.

I would like to see anime characters, aswell. Even characters from other games like they are doing for Kratos, Killzone and Nariko. I want a Rachet or Chimerin costume.

I think it is smart. LBP is about creativity and making the game your own. Give me more tools, a wide variety of characters and I can make my own Kingdom Hearts type crossover game. More options for LBP = win.

youre treating them as compete characters think of the parts kratos etc are just parts neaded to make him thnk laterally people killzone guy with mouse ears,little mermaid godess of war,chimeran helgast or even just give mickey mouse some bades

All I would want to know is how much is it going to cost us to download these characters? This question can be put to all the costume downloads that will at some point be available. OR is Disney/LBP going to be generous and give us a few freebies to tantalize our tast buds?

Disney invading LBP would be it's death toll in my mind. Maybe not in reality, as there are lots of Disney phreaks out there (gotta be, they all buy the suck azz Kingdon Hearts games).

But that would take this ultimately cool game, and ratchet up the sell-out cheese factor.

Wow... guess my last post got killed for saying the other word for 'butt'.

To reiterate, I think cross-over of Disney characters would stink. Personally, I don't like any crossovers much (doesn't work well with comics, rarely works with games). But introducing Disney is an instant sell-out and huge increase in the cheese factor. Sack-boy is cute enough, I don't need a stupid mouse or Nemo to make it cuter. Eventually that always turned into stuff like this taking precident over actual content.

I think including third-party characters (especially from as high profile a company as Disney) in LBP would undermine its uniqueness and stifle its ability to establish itself as a vital, sovereign IP.

On the one hand, the whole charm of this is its handmade look and feel, bringing in premade Disney content seems like it might ruin that.

On the other hand, they've already brought in Cratos and Heavenly Sword Girl, so it's not like they weren't selling out before. And I can't help but think a Sackboy Stitch would rock.
