Joystiq gets some hands-on time with Killzone 2, Dead Space and more

Our archenemy friend with the coolest name Xav de Matos attended the Sony Holiday event in Toronto, Canada and has written up impressions of upcoming PlayStation 3 titles on our sister site Joystiq. The Killzone 2 hands-on even includes a little bit of cam footage. And best of all, because it was a Sony event, all multiplatform games played were the PS3 versions, so it is definitely worth checking out:

I think Killzone 2 might be the title that suprises us all. The hype machine has toned down considerably since its announcement, and the Resistance Viral marketing is growing and growing. Not to mention LBP and its media exposure.
Killzone 2 might just bring a true "next gen" experience that no other console can match. I have yet to see another console title match the in-game footage thats already been shown.
I'm exited.

For all the three hours that I've played Killzone 2, it is EPOC! (That's right, with an O)
After playing KZ2, I thought LittleBigPlanet was kind of boring, and Resistance: FoM's online is nowhere near as fun!
The creepiest thing I have seen in Killzone 2 so far is when one of my team members went into a corridor to kill some ISA scum, and all I could see was the shadow of his body against the wall with blood and bullets hitting the wall.
It was amazing!
(P.S. I got in the Beta from Sony's U.S. branch, so the beta codes are going out in the U.S.)

What is funny is people want to compare gears 2 to this.. Visuals go to killzone 2 hands down, the detail is so much better. The new textures are very sharp, plus it's in pre -alpha so i expect even more by Feb.The Ps3 is a beast of a console.Devs always like to rush and code a game very fast and you get sloppy ports.Killzone 2 is a statement to other devs, this is what you get when you take your time and code right.
