ZOMG Dark Knight Blu-ray available for pre-order

Archon @ Oct 10th 2008 2:28PM
Digital copy? Is that the PSP copying feature thingy?
Galley @ Oct 10th 2008 3:12PM
No, it's for your iPod or "other compatible player" (whatever that may be).
DigDug @ Oct 10th 2008 3:51PM
Yes, works with PSP. Managed copy allows SD transfers to any portable device, PSP included.
lorddshadow @ Oct 12th 2008 12:21AM
actually 20th Century Fox (the studio releasing the dark knight) says clearly on their digital copy website that psp and zune are currently not supported.
dc @ Oct 10th 2008 2:35PM
would there be any pre-order specials?
Gemini Ace @ Oct 10th 2008 2:43PM
Iron Man was better. :-)
ScottishPrik @ Oct 10th 2008 2:53PM
Nice try but no kudos for you. I predict this to be the best selling blu-rayfilm ever.....ever. Mark my words.
"bluray sucks" SUCKS @ Oct 10th 2008 3:14PM
hey listen, just because the PS3 is better than Xbox 360 theres no need to come crying to us. It's not our fault your so jealous that microsoft is failing. Before this article there are about 7 articles on games so what are you talking about when you say "This site sucks it talks more about blu-ray then shitty PS3 games..."
go cry some where else
strike @ Oct 10th 2008 3:22PM
Your mum is the 'shittiest format ever.'
Sorry guyz, had to be said =p
davo @ Oct 10th 2008 3:17PM
haha you'll have a blu ray player one day whether you like it or not troll.
I pre-ordered this early last week on amazon (under 15 quid in the uk) and can't wait. Some of the action sequences were filmed using IMAX gear and hyped up to be the best picture quality any of us have seen on our home system. Going to be sweet!
Hashbrown Hunter @ Oct 10th 2008 5:00PM
I saw the IMAX version in theaters, and if the Blu-Ray is even half as good as that it's definitely worth the upgrade. It makes an absolutely staggering difference between SD.

twice lol
finelicker @ Oct 10th 2008 3:32PM
Whatever happened to 7.1 sound on films. Plenty of games are 7.1, but virtually 0 films :(
Jon Acheson @ Oct 10th 2008 3:41PM
Sounds good, but the price is too high. I'll wait for it to go on sale.
Daniel @ Oct 10th 2008 3:45PM
I hope one of the special features is to play the movie with Batman's voice at a believable pitch.
BlingOnMyWrist @ Oct 10th 2008 4:49PM
hahahaha
Why are these Blu Ray movies being produced on multiple discs???
I got Iron Man *First blu-ray purchased hoo-rah*
and it was on 2 discs also. I thought since the Blu Ray disc has such a high capacity, they could fit all of the special features on a single disc.
It may sound lazy but, I really do wish I didn't have to get up to switch the discs when they could just fit all of that onto one disc.
Unless there is an actual reason for this...
I mean I understand that a high definition movie takes up a lot more space than a standard but, games take up even more space than a movie.
JoeTheBlow @ Oct 10th 2008 6:26PM
Nope.
1080p, and DTS Master Audio take up a HUGE amount of space, you get about 3 hours per double-layer BD. Thats it.
If you have a TV and sound system to take advantage of it, nothing comes close. DVD's are fine, only in the sense that watching VHS's on a regular SD CRT are fine.
BlingOnMyWrist @ Oct 10th 2008 7:09PM
Even 50 GB???
that's crazy
thanks for letting me know, i was sort of bewildered that they gave me two blu rays even with it's extremely large capacity but now i know the limitations with a movie
anthonyjh @ Oct 11th 2008 12:37AM
Not this comment again...
Paulmichael @ Oct 10th 2008 3:49PM
Never saw this movie, I'll probably rent this if possible and then buy it if I like it...
lorddshadow @ Oct 11th 2008 11:59PM
just skip the rental. no one i know (or even on an internet search!) disliked the movie. it's worth twice as much as they're charging.
DigDug @ Oct 10th 2008 4:23PM
LOL, look at the difference between Iron man upscaled, and proper HD.

I think you are the one that's the loser...
Kevin PSN: Keviseg15 @ Oct 10th 2008 4:28PM
by digital copy does it come with like an SD card?
Gilson Cortes @ Oct 10th 2008 4:59PM
Already pre-ordered~
worry @ Oct 10th 2008 6:20PM
anyone know what region code its gonna be on? altho amazon have no info yet, they are also hopelessly unreliable with putting the right code on their site. damn im wishing allready this is region free so i can play it on my australian ps3
JoeTheBlow @ Oct 10th 2008 6:23PM
WOW!
Though it shouldn't be a surprise, considering BD has 4 times the detail, and all the upscaling in the world isn't gonna magically create pixels that don't exist on DVD.
This film could be the Blu-ray's "Matrix", the killer app that pushes it over the edge.
will @ Oct 10th 2008 6:40PM
ZOMG paying for something before you can actually get it!
nakedatthecomp @ Oct 10th 2008 9:32PM
this is a movie that warrants going out to get a super big HDTV and surround :D
Ves @ Oct 10th 2008 11:19PM
I already know that the Joker cover is going to be very popular with pre-ordering.
anthonyjh @ Oct 11th 2008 12:39AM
I was REALLY hoping they would have included a R-rated director's cut.
AkmGamer @ Oct 11th 2008 5:12PM
Definite Buy! Best movie of the year!
Minablo @ Oct 11th 2008 5:14PM
worry > so far, Warner Home Video (on its own, which excludes New Line and HBO) has only released region-free discs. The artwork for The Dark Knight mentions no region limitation for the Blu-ray. Warner (as well as Paramount or Universal) was actually a member of the HD DVD camp, which didn't support region locking, and their Blu-ray releases are in line with their previous policies.
anthonyjh > No R-rated cut has been announced. The PG-13 rating was actually quite generous, given some shots (especially the ones involving Two-Face) and it looks like, despite some wishful thinking, that Christopher Nolan will make no other cut or release deleted scenes.
