Worldwide PS3 releases for the week of October 12th

It all begins here, folks. You're about to be inundated with quality titles from now until Christmas. Dead Space is one we've been eagerly anticipating, so it's great to see its release in the US and Asia this week. Even better that it'll be waiting for us when we return from TGS. Other notable releases include SOCOM, Rock Revolution and Saints Row 2. When we say "notable," we don't necessarily mean that in a good way. Here's the full release list:

Release dates are constantly subject to change, almost completely by random. If you're worried, clarify with your local retailer. PS3 games are region free, so go ahead and import any game in the list above. Be aware, however, that DLC is region locked, so those downloadable Dead Space suits will only bought if manage to grab them from the appropriate PSN Store.

Yes i played the first one, yes i've seen all the videos of the new one and it just simply looks too stupid.

I won't be getting that, and its definatly not a GTA killer in my eyes.

I'm not too optimistic about SR2 either. The first one wasn't that impressive. Definitely no GTA killer.
I hope it's as enjoyable as they're making it look but I'm not buying it day 1 just because I think it looks like a fun ripoff of GTA. I made that mistake with No More Heroes: the single most overrated game of all time.

If I try SR2 and I'm impressed, I'll pick it up but I can't imagine I'll get very far before I get completely engrossed in LBP next week.

I'm actually a bit more interested in Dead Space. It looks like Scifi RE4 but cooler: I haven't seen one quick time event in any preview.

Play (EU) started selling Bioshock at the weekend. A friend got it this morning. Not even due for release until Friday.

Dead space looks good but socom is probably going to sell as good or better. Dead space is getting good reviews and ign gave it 8.7. Not a bad score but also not a perfect game that will give it enormous sales like say a gears of war, resistance 2. Dead space is kind of like bio shock in that its a sleeper hit that sells based on review hype. I am getting socom def., maybe getting dead space and renting saints row 2 and maybe keeping it from gamefly if i really like it.

Perhaps because SOCOM is an online only game which restricts its appeal (I like SOCOM but not online play so I'll be waiting for the real SOCOM to show up).

Plus PS3FB has been in love with DS for about 2 months now.

Well, that would make some sense if it wasn't for the fact that Dead Space is single player only. I think in the end Dead Space is a bigger game, more budget, more hype, etc, and that's why it is getting top billing.

Have checked retailer's sites in the uk, Bioshock definitely should be coming out this Friday... I guess they just didn't want to admit that Europe is actually getting such a big name game before the States :)

Or maybe its because SOCOM's beta is a complete disaster and they keeping making more problems for the game with every update they release for it. Dead Space is probably going to be the unexpected Hit this year, SOCOM is gonna gain 5s and 6s if it doesnt fix all the problems it has in the beta, and even if it does, itll still generate a high 7 or low 8 at best.

Dont tell me what a beta is i know , what a beta is. Ive beta tested PC games for over 10 years now. But i have never seen a dev team DESTROY their game with patches like they are doing with SOCOM

Play.com (UK) is selling bioshoke right now. It's says "in stock". When I rang Game they still say Friday the 17th.

SOCOM baby I've been waiting all this time for it! Loved the beta (except the problems of course, but what beta is without problems really)! I'm picking SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation with the headset, and FIFA 09 this week. Great week for gaming. SOCOM will definitely be the game that I come back to every single day, just like in the PS2 days with SOCOM II.

Off topic: What happened at TGS? Only game we really learned more about was White Knight. There's no new game reveals or any other info (yeah, there was something about Home, *yawn*), what am I missing? There was lot of coverage about Xbox, barely any Sony news.

Oh right, there was also that USB charger. :-\

i want socom this week, if there are problems still i'm sure they'll be taken care of. i really want the headset. i want blitz the league but it can wait. dead space looks fantastic but i'm not ready for that type of game now. thats why i'm loving LBP, i can jump in and play any time.

They call the week of "October 12th" so I would imagine it being "October 19th", that will be added to the next weeks releases.

Umm...i dont know why this wasnt a news story cuz it wasnt really reported But..if you go on the PSN store..theres a huge advertizement that Socom is coming to PSN this thursday. For people who cant go out n buy the disc based version kinda like Warhawk. Just thought id give a heads up to the community and the PS3Fanboys. Kudos go to my friend Chris.

I don't really like Socom, but I'm buying the package because I'll just sell back the game with two other older games (fight night and burnout:paradise) and get fifa for free.

60 - 50= 10
Trade in value fight night: 12
Trad in value Burnout: 8

Good idea?

PS. I can't find info on whether this game is tradable/sharable; I've only found speculation. Can anyone confirm or deny 100%?
