ESRB listing shows Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for the PS3

We've got bad news for these eBay sellers -- a poster on NeoGAF noticed that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 has been rated for both the PS3 and Xbox 360. Presumably, the title will be a downloadable one on the PS Store and XBLA. The ESRB has been a good source of leaks in the past, so we have no reason believe otherwise in this instance.
With the a total of 56 playable characters in the game spanning two vast fictional universes, hopefully Capcom doesn't plan on charging us $1.99 per character download.

If it has playable online versus, I'm in. Otherwise, I'll play my upscaled PS2 copy.

I doubt anybody would ever play it. My friends were regular tournament players who would go to Evo each year and would vouch that any lag in the game would make serious play be out of the question with a large set of characters.
For those who aren't die-hard then online would be great.

Wow, doubly gay because A: You're playing the Playstation version instead of selling it and buying like five DCs with the $$, and B: You're upscaling low-res sprites.
Yeah, if it's not DC/arcade some people will DL but the community won't care when it's so cheap to get into the game already.

If there's something like later downloadable character patches or some enhancement I'll get it but otherwise I'm fine with my upscaled PS2 version. Make Marvel vs. Capcom 3 damn it! or DC versus Capcom (wishful thinking)

I hope they release this with the new Vs. Series...that would be really cool.
I also hope they add some new Characters like Strider Hien, Phoenix etc...
(stuff we haven't seen yet)

Its a rare game and has a large fan base. I still have my original copy for Dreamcast.

I still have the Dreamcast version as well. I believe the Japanese version of the game allowed for online play with it too (not saying anyone is still playing that on the DC). If this is a straight port, no need to spend any money here.

This could be bigger than we expect. Offering this as a downloadable game they could put in some new characters as addons for a couple bucks adding to the 56 character roster hey they even can add a new sub boss in there if they want. Great news but I already have a backup copy of it for dreamcast and a capcom collection disc that has mvc2 cvs2 sf3ts pf ss2t all on one disc, and I can switch music between the the games. So if there not offering anything new ill pass.

It probably won't be the PS2 version, as Sony has "said" that there will never be PS2 Classics for download. I would make a guess that this is an arcade version similar to MKII on the PSN.

YES!! Freakin sweeettt. My copy got stolen. I was thinkin about buying a used copy for 100$ just yesterday! Online would be cool, but I agree this game is rather fast for lag. SF3 online and downloadable baby!!!

Ummm...stop complaining or even talking about the outrageous prices on ebay...GET A DREAMCAST AND GET THE DREAMCAST VERSION!!! sheesh! it's not like there's no other way to play it or that this is going to be the first way to play it in years. Besides the Dreamcast version is the best, you can get a Dreamcast on ebay for like 20 bucks plus MvC2 is like 10-20 (20 being the most, probably new) bucks. The only thing that would make this version (if it ever comes out) better would be HD support (I don't even have an HDTV but it's awesome for the people that have it), online play is useless in fighting games (it's boring as hell) but it's the trend for people because of it doesn't have online play it's not good (hahahaa!!!) but yeah whatever.
