Rumor: Mirror's Edge demo coming November 6th

According to this pre-order page for Mirror's Edge, a demo for the game will be available for download November 6th. The game's release date is the 11th, so the 6th seems like a logical date for a demo to be released. Guess we'll find out soon enough. i got both xbox 360 and ps3, but for some reason my xbox downloads demos and stuff much faster than the ps3. so imma try it on 360, then do it on ps3, my valkyrie chronicles demo isnt even done yet lol.

You do know that the lead development console for Mirror's Edge is the PS3, right? The game is being ported to 360. As long as you know that, then that's fine.

That's very interesting, my housemate has a 360 in his room and I have a PS3 in mine, we always use my ps3 to download stuff because it goes so much faster

Well do wat u gotta do....And hopefully the PS3 is the lead platform fro now on so they can optimize the game for both consoles! Definite 1st day buy

Pretty sure it depends on how old or new it is because if it's new more people will be download it so it will be slower. Because u pay for Live they probally have bettter server for the store but for PS3 it's better for games because alot of it's games have dedicated servers meaning they have a server solely for the game. If you ever made a website before and bought hosting space you'll be using the same server as evreyone else unless noted otherwise . So basically

PS3=fast if direct connect and less people downloading at it and in gaming

360= fast if direct connect and all the time in store but not AS good for gaming

Cool, so this is a bonus offer? or free for everyone to download? and those who say their PS3 downloads slow it's probably their connection or something since my PS3 downloads pretty good, even on the big 1gb downloads its pretty fast...

Are you wired?

It's probably the wi-fi, since 90% of the people that complain about their PS3 downloading slowly also have 360's that download fine.

I have a 360 that can download a 1gb demo off live in a couple minutes, but even a couple hundred MB demo on the PS3 takes hours. My 360 is wired, and PS3 on wireless, so I wonder if that's the reason for the disparity.

mine is wireless and i have 7 mb download speed and i download demos or anything thats a gb in like half an hour both my ps3 and 360 are fast.

Wireless network is extremely sensitive to disturbance. It could be any kind of material in your walls and how many walls between the PS3 and the router as well as disturbance from your TV or the shelf the PS3 is standing on.

Also, if the wireless device, let it be PS3 or your laptop says it can do X Mb/s, always count 75% of that speed.

and yea the're probably using wi-fi and how adrian said it is probably the things you have in between your Ps3 and the router that change the speed to download things

Gamestop has a demo that comes with the pre-ordering of Mirror's Edge. They said they had it already.

AFAIK, the codes Gamestop (or other retailers) are giving out unlock the TIME TRIAL mode in the demo. You still need to already have the demo in order to use the code.

Yeah, it sounds like you only get this if you pre-ordered. Seems a little dumb to me. I want the demo so I will know if I want to buy.

Also, I use wi-fi and my ps3 DL's pretty quick (definitely doesn't take hours for 1 gig). Maybe it's my router though. It's a pretty good one.

same here, I got 4mb/s connection with wifi and if I use warhawk to test my connection it's the same speed as it is wired... 1gb download doesn't take an hour... while using wifi, if I download a 45 minute TV show from PSN which totals ~700mb, I can watch it while it's downloading and it'll finish in about 25 minutes... but if I have some computers on my network running bittorrent (or some network intensive software); downloading something with a lot of seeds and peers, for example (something like ubuntu, with a lot of host machines), it'll slow down the network traffic for all my connected systems as I generally will allow many connections at a time.

i never understood that. why would you get the demo only if you preorder? the psp had quite a few of those situations. the purpose of a demo is to try the game out to see if you like it so why put down money on it if you don't know if you like it or not? it's like putting the down payment on a house just to take a tour of it. game companies hustling honest customers FTL.
