Firmware 2.50 coming tomorrow, along with Flash 9

In addition to the features announced yesterday, Firmware 2.50 will feature Flash 9 support for the PS3's browser, according to this post on the official PlayStation community forums. The message also states the update will arrive tomorrow, October 15th.

Furthermore, Eurogamer was able to uncover some extra changes that most of us probably don't care about: users will now "the ability to see optional EXIF (exchangeable image file format) information while viewing photos" and "the Y and Z and Q and A keys have been remapped for the German on-screen keyboard." Wholy shit! If that is true, that is friggin awesome! And it also says that not only can you have your controllers shut off after so long, you can have the console as well! I dont know how creditable it is, but we can only hope!

Yay, finally Flash is up to date!

Watching videos may still be a problem since there is still a lack of RAM. Combine that with the fact that a lot of websites today are designed very sloppily.

Thats a good point the aggie... maybe we need more cache space... but im ok if i can see streaming movies like the ones in tnaflix.com first i was able to see them but then they upgraded to flash 9 so i guess i will now be able to see them again.... does anyone knows a ps3 flash game? they should do that. i have only seen duck hunt :P

Try the PlayOn Media Server. We watch Hulu and Netflix on my PS3 all the time now. Works best if you are using only G (wireless) or have it all connected cat5 (which is the way my set up works).

i've tried to watch videos on my website using the Vimeo.com embedded and it always says "you need to update your flash". then i go to Adobe to update and it says "your browser is not supported for Flash".

I've kept it on since Sunday.. just yesterday they took off the servers so I guess it's not worth keeping on anyway but I am getting much more comfortable with the creating tools and starting to get a level idea in.

I thought that I had to download a plug in or something to watch those on the computer, so it probably wouldn't work on the PS3. I think its something different from flash. But what do I know? nuthin I tells ya
