GTA IV Trophy patch now live

So when Rockstar says "Monday the 27th of October" it seems they actually mean "the evening of Sunday the 26th." The GTA IV Trophy patch is now live and ready to be downloaded worldwide. So if you're not too busy exploring Africa, the Ishimura or Rapture, why not have another go around Liberty City? Keep in mind that you'll have to start a new game as the Trophies are not retroactive. But was anyone really expecting them to be?

Yeah Ive been tearing Far Cry up. Gotta say that Saints Row 2 is great too, basically Saints Row on steroids, plus coop is great.

For a game where such a huge deal is paid to the in-game radio stations, you would think it would be an obvious move to include an in-game iPod-esque device for queuing up your own music.

I got 87% the first time through... It's an amazing game but there are so MANY new games coming out that I don't think I will have time to get any trophies

Seriously ... Can't wait until early 2009 when trophies are mandated for every new release ... I don't care about trophies personally but it's insane to expect someone to play through the game again! Same reason I haven't got an Uncharted trophy yet ...

I mean, Uncharted is short enough to warrant another run, since I didn't find all the treasure. But that's not a compelling enough reason for me to want to do it all over again, when there's all this new stuff out I don't even have time enough to play!

yeah i did it all for the key to the city through the rockstar social culb, i spent 61 hours with the game in about 3 weeks

Wish the trophies were retroactive just like Warhawk did it, why can't i just download the patch and watch my trophies pop up, anyway i will be too busy in the Resistance 2 beta and Little Big Planet but i might bother getting the trophies for GTA4 when Sony finally says what the reward would be for getting trophies

If you could do that then you could just download a save game file and copy it to your PS3. The only reason some Warhawk trophies are retroactive is because a portion of your stats are stored online, not on your PS3.

i started the game over so many times when it launched because i couldn't read what to do, then i had my first random encounter and just kept it moving. now i have a game around 48% and i have to start over for trophies. do i want them that bad? at all? is this gta worth the time? i had 5/6 of random encounters the first guy i helped more than once. i have %100 with all my girlfriends and working on getting 2 more. i came in first place in all the races so far.

Does the patch also fix the random freezing when you're logged into psn? If not the **** off rockstar. Normally I'm not like this but the freezing really pissed me off :\

That was fixed a long time ago and it mainly happened to 20GB and 60GB owners. Sony was supposed to replace your PS3 for free if this happened under certain circumstances. They replaced my launch unit and my replacement 60GB plays it fine.

So I guess you use cheats only after you've completed the game 100% Thats slightly annoying but I'll live. I never got the game in the first place so I have to do the story 1st time anyway.

Man, I really don't want to start over - but I am in the 'I LOVE THIS GAME' camp, so I probably will.

Haha, no way am i playing that through again...why is it we have to get this stuff so long after release...

Sure its great for the people who buy it after now...like with burnout...no way am i going to start again...

I miss the days when they released games that were finished and not need to be patched on release day when you get home...nothings as cool as buying a $120(aus) game, get home, wait for the mandatory install and then update it when EVERYONE is trying at the same time and it goes slow, then not be in the mood to play it..YAY /rant...
