North American LittleBigPlanet gets 1.02 patch

If you've been keeping up with our LittleBigPlanet coverage, you'll know that the v1.02 patch removes the controversial lyrical content from Toumani Diabaté's "Tapha Niang." That patch, which has been in Europe for a few days already, is now available in North America.

While the game is now ready for the public to play, the online servers are still not ready as of this writing. With "week of October 27" still locked in as the official release window, those online servers should be up sometime next week.

Downloaded the patch this morning, I wish the servers were ready so i could get my God of War costumes and make some levels.

I'm returning this game tommorow , what a let down.
Seriously its mediocre , found the single player experience well ... short .
Making my own levels was sadly as much as i tried to like it just plain boring , I wish the developers the best of luck and it will sell buckets due to the hype i'm sure , but just not for me .
Think I will get Farcry or perhaps Fallout 3 instead. I think it is an ok game perhaps a 7/10 .

PS. I just wanted to point out how bad the simple physics are in LBP to . Just simple things like running and jumping are very poorly executed.

Before everyone starts bitchin at this guy, it is his opinion. If he doesn't like LBP, it's his problem and loss. I also do not think LBP is that good, but that is MY opinion.

what are you serious?
this game has to be the best game since it has infinite replay value because the community will keep making new levels plus it is the best game ive seen graphic wise running at 720p, they are just so sharp and amazing.
and gameplay is challenging at times but you say the story mode is short well thats why when you finish it the name of the trophy is"just the beggining" because there is so much more to do

"Dave", you're a joke, please go away. The online portion which is one of the MAJOR draws to the game isn't even complete. We get it as pointed out above, you don't like or want to like LBP so yes, go play whatever shhot 'em up that pleases you.

As for it being his opinion, fine, my opinion is he has very little taste is gaming and enjoys a narrow niche of games.

OLDMIKE, yes, playing through the story levels is short, especially if you aren't trying to get every single prize bubble. I have had the game less than 24 hours and haven't played it for all that long, really, and yet I'm getting quite close to the end. Have you played it yet? The replay value will come with community levels. I wasn't expecting the included levels to last all that long to begin with.

So I guess if a friend of mine had the opinion that when he was crossing the street that he wouldn't get hit by a car I should just let him keep his opinion? I think not. No one is entitled to their opinion if it is completely one-sided and adds nothing to the subject. LBP is that car, that luckily for him it can't actually kill him.

Considering the fact that you would've had to preorder the game, which according to your previous posts lead to a 100% "no way" on you even purchasing the game, I call BS that you have even played it and can form "opinions" such as the ones above.

I have actually had the came for 12 days, since I was at a pre-release party by the danish company hwo "runs" PS3 in Scandinavia.

There for I have happended to cross the server access once. And I am for sure the first to put levels up!

Search for Flying Sackboy first day the servers are up, or add GummiTarzan to see my online trophies. So keep trying, though it will for sure be a one time exp. since I can't make it online again :(

I have to agree with the previous commentor about some of the issues with the physics. At times it seems like the running and even some jumping is a bit difficult to execute, or even just bouncing on some of the platforms that allow you to go higher and higher is a bit tricky to get a hang of.

What level is the song on?

My GoW code riped when I was pealing the sticker off of it... I think I figured it out from the scraps I pulled off the sticker... unless its more than 10 characters... if its 12 I'm screwed... I'll find out tomorrow I guess...

Also, I didn't hear any lyrics on the song BEFORE the patch. The song is in the second set of levels, the African Zora levels.

Probably because you have the same disc as I do - the repressed version. You can tell by checking your UPC code on the back of the case.

what are u guys talking about?
got my copy yesterday and just got to the sahvanna level this morning(spent all night plying with my friends).

Unless your just running through the levels trying to beat the game as fast as you can theirs no reason the game should be short.

And as for the phisics. what, you were expecting the game to feel like every other platformer(supper mario)? its a new game with diffrent controls and diffrent phisics(which add to the dificulty of the game).

I believe most of these complaints are comming from people who:
a) try to play this as just another platformer
b) its a new game(not upper mario) or
c) don't have any friends to play with

ps:the games alot more ffun when the people ur playing wth are right next to you:)

I think the only ones complaining about this game are haters in the first place. I was a little skeptical in the fun of this game and how good it would be for me. I am happy to say I love the game. I couldn't stop thinking this morning of building a new level and everything that would go into it. Stop comparing it to Mario. Mario has nothing on this 3-D side scroller.
