LittleBigPlanet servers are live

The guys at Media Molecule have just announced that the servers for LittleBigPlanet have gone live. You can now begin to access all of the online features of the game -- make friends, publish levels, heart levels and more. Those of you got their hands on an "early" copy of the game from GameStop, why are you still reading this?! Finally, make sure to play the PS3 Fanboy-made level (pictured) created by Majed. Have fun!

yes get code up aready want kratos
Morisato06 @ Oct 27th 2008 1:01PM
Yeah, same. I have my code, and it still isn't working whenever i enter the info. Anyone have any idea when they will work?
nakedatthecomp @ Oct 27th 2008 1:20PM
the site to enter the code still isn't up, huh... :(
ElectroGirl @ Oct 27th 2008 2:11PM
I can't get my code to work either. Crappy sticker on the postcard stuck to the numbers so I don't even know if I'm reading the code right. I'm anxious to see if I've deciphered it correctly.
MakaiOokami @ Oct 28th 2008 12:49AM
Lawl at Electrogirl... You do realize that it was a scratch off and not a sticker pull off thingy right? XD It's a scratch card that's why it was stuck to the numbers. :P
Puli @ Oct 27th 2008 12:37PM
If only I wasn't stuck at work.
indigit4l @ Oct 27th 2008 1:11PM
We gotta do something about this having to work thing.
elm @ Oct 27th 2008 12:38PM
Yes! At least someone can enjoy the game :) Here in Europe, even if we have an american copy, we will have to wait to the release day (which makes sense, I know).
elm @ Oct 27th 2008 1:28PM
Correction: the american game it is working now here in the UK. Thanks!
MoonShine @ Oct 27th 2008 1:01PM
still no codes... disappointing...
rov947 @ Oct 27th 2008 1:06PM
I bought this game a week ago when I noticed blockbuster leaked it and have been waiting for the servers. Considering EVERYONE sold it last week, one would think MM would flip the f'n switch sooner!
Lars @ Oct 27th 2008 1:27PM
Uh, EVERYONE did NOT sell it last week. I went to about a dozen stores in my area. Nada. I had to wait for the freshly minted discs to hit GameCrazy on Saturday.
Also, to PS3F... didn't you guys already have a few levels up? Such as the hoverboard challenge? Or was that not PS3F?

Anyone want to join up? Lets build a ps3fanboy level quick to show off.
Gambit07 @ Oct 27th 2008 1:13PM
My brain becomes a vegetable when I'm in the level editor, one needs a LOT of practice to even understand how things work...
brett @ Oct 27th 2008 1:18PM
I found the trick is to start off simple & small. At first (in the beta) I tried to do too much all at once.
Gambit07 @ Oct 27th 2008 1:23PM
That's what I'm doing Brett, I finished the story mode, collected quite a few pre made objects, so that would help. I think the only way to make something decent is actually plan the entire level 1st with a paper & pen and then try to recreate it.
PSNid: Gambit07, to all LittleBigPlaneteers.
Lars @ Oct 27th 2008 1:29PM
Different peoples brains work in different ways. I can easily slap together some cool stuff with the tools. But I know some friends that kinda sit there dumbfounded. My wife has a tendency to do the pen-and-paper route.
NipGrip @ Oct 27th 2008 1:34PM
Gambit, the pen and paper idea first works best. When i used to build maps for certain FPS's, I would always pencil the map and how things work out first ot make sure it was as feasible as a working level as it played out in my mind. Once you have it on paper, you can more easily flesh it out on the screen.
Good luck everyone! PSN: NipGrip
devilmaker @ Oct 27th 2008 2:16PM
I can only base this on the TS mapmaker... because I live in the UK (stop mocking me!).
I only ever used pen and paper when I didn't have th game infront of me. Other than that my mind was my pen and paper, I could easily visualise it and transfer it quickly. But then, I guess thats due to my logical left-brain dominance.
Lars @ Oct 27th 2008 5:21PM
Hey, left-brainer! I'm one too. Though surprisingly creative for that stereotype.
Gervin @ Oct 28th 2008 10:03AM
I found the secret for level building, (As I was up all night last night with my first day of LBP) is to go old school D&D. I started designing my level on graph paper first so I don't get over-whelmed with the tools and just want to start trying everything in a haphazard manner.
I've also been doing something VERY geeky... researching machinery from the Renaissance, since it uses lots of simple gears and such for complex motion. That way I can bring that design to my levels for complex actions. Example, one of the game reviews talked about not being able to build a resetting trap-door. Well... using a wheel, some levers and good ole gravity... presto... I have a self activating trap door system that uses gravity assisted attached poles to hit on/off switches to rotate the gears only as much as I need. This took me fricking forever to get right though.
sirkarkus @ Oct 27th 2008 2:23PM
I peeled back the plastic thing on my code card and half of the fugger ripped off with it!! i hope GS will give me another one! X-(
wes @ Oct 27th 2008 1:34PM
Same thing happened to me. Went back and got another promo card, unfortunately I am still getting a message that my code is invalid. Hopefully this will be rectified soon.
NipGrip @ Oct 27th 2008 1:35PM
Yeah do *not* peel off the code on the paper like it's a sticker, it is not. It's best scratched off lightly with a knife or other edge, maybe a coin.
There should be a P3F PSA for this or something :D
sirkarkus @ Oct 27th 2008 2:24PM
just called GS they are going to give me a new one.. YES!
I'll fallow nipgrip's advice this time around

Jason @ Oct 27th 2008 1:33PM
I just want Kratos already!
I did notice the god of war level as soon as I was able to search for cool levels. Its pretty hot, didnt get a chance to finish it cause I gotta go back to work =\
rvkremer @ Oct 27th 2008 2:10PM
The end of the level is fantastic. I won't spoil it, but I thought the choice of music given the subject matter was hilarious. That author is my first hearted.
hybrid @ Oct 27th 2008 1:46PM
I picked up my preorder copy from gs over lunch, and they gave me a new card that had kratos, medusa, and minotaur on it...instead of the one they gave me when I preordered a few weeks ago. Anyone know if they made the kratos only ones invalid for these three? I haven't tried it yet as at work, but just curious.
drdre74 @ Oct 27th 2008 1:47PM
Add me if you want to play

To those that weren't in the beta, look for World of Colour! I hope it made the transition with no problems.
SnazzyD @ Oct 27th 2008 2:45PM
Absolutely agree! That is a slick level with minimalist design but a real eye-grabber. Just like the title suggests - colourful...
mtgo @ Oct 27th 2008 4:54PM
Anyone know where to get the game if you did not pre-order it from gamestop?
Featherhammer @ Oct 27th 2008 2:28PM
I just picked mine up at bestbuy. I ordered from bestbuy.com with in-store pick up. You can try that with circuit city or other box stores and check for in-store pick up. That'll save you gas/time.

Anyone have a video of the FFVII Bombing Mission level? :)
rgoff31 @ Oct 27th 2008 3:16PM
I finally was able to publish my Catapult Trophy level. I tried it on my other accounts and was able to get 5-6 trophies with it. Between GTA trophies and level creating in LBP I'll be busy for the next few months.
TimBob @ Oct 27th 2008 11:51PM
When I was able to connect to the server I played your level, that sure was fun. I think I was able to nab about 8 different trophies, and the #2 score (for a while at least)
MidnightRider1 @ Oct 27th 2008 4:03PM
YES
bluesky_v2.01 @ Oct 27th 2008 5:15PM
I noticed the game got kinda buggy today with the launch of the servers. Freezed up couple of times when I was creating levels, It seemed to run much smoother yesterday. Hopefully another patch comes soon (very soon).
Lars @ Oct 27th 2008 5:29PM
That was my experience with the beta. Whenever there was a fresh batch of codes given away, the servers would be terrible. And even doing some offline stuff was affected by it. Had to disconnect from the internet to get it to work smoothly. Of course then you don't get to play the published levels...
CrashSpyro123 @ Oct 27th 2008 5:21PM
And now they're down and out.
