Namco Bandai promises Naruto DLC will be free [Update]
In addition to a stunning new trailer, a recent blog post on the PlayStation.blog revealed that PS3's exclusive Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm will feature post-release DLC, which will add additional support characters and missions to the game. While Namco Bandai is usually notorious for their overpriced DLC offerings, we're surprised to hear that it'll be all free. Seriously. "It will mostly focus on new support characters and missions and best of all, it will all be FREE!" If the beautiful graphics and exclusive PS3 support haven't convinced you, perhaps this announcement will.
Ultimate Ninja Storm is available next week.

The following support characters, each accompanied by an additional single player mission, will be available for free download from the PLAYSTATION®Network for the PLAYSTATION 3 system on the dates below:
- November 6, 2008: Shizune
- December 4, 2008: Asuma
- December 18, 2008: Kurenai
- January 8, 2009: Anko
- January 22, 2009: Jirobo
- February 5, 2009: Kidoumaru
- February 19 2009: Tayuya
- March 5, 2009: Sakon

If this was released 2 months ago, or even 1 month ago it would be an instant buy. So much is coming out now that I will skip it, and hopefully not forget it exists come the new year.

not tat im not happy tat the dlc will be free
but the only reason i reserved the Special Edition of this game for 10 bucks at gamestop was to get the dwnloadable content like the 3rd hokage and extra missions
and now its free?

Im pretty sure the 3rd Hokage is included in the game... and all the bonus DLC are just support chars not playable...which is gay.. i want more playable chars...

Free DLC huh. How about a free trophy patch? I guess it's easier to make new high definition art assets and new level designs than it is to use or make 4 images for bronze, silver, gold, and platinum trophies and write text for the conditions for attaining them.

That's sweet i will most likely buy the game but i wont buy it until there is a significant price drop. I am waiting to pick up two must have games :-) Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2 ;-) yep Naruto can wait.
