LittleBigPlanet patch hits v1.03, servers up and running

LittleBigPlanet just got a patch update to v1.03 -- the third update this week. What does it do exactly? Well, the major difference with the new patch seems to revolve around the fact that the servers are up. Not only that, but they're actually running smoothly. Looks like whatever LittleBigHiccup that was bothering the online multiplayer mode is now gone. Now go out there and make those silly Sackpeople do silly things.

[Update: Servers were running smooth this morning, but it looks like they're down again this afternoon. Perhaps the new patch didn't ease the server strains after all.]

Yeah I got it late last night around 11pm. Also on the JP PSN store are two new LBP costumes. There is a halloween one and the space suit one. I downloaded them but they didn't work on my american version of the game. So we should get them today on the US update.

They haven't announced...that is why I'm asking....seems to be an issue for those with older HDTVs.

Yeah my g/f's TV is one of those TV's and it sucks having to see the game at 480p in 4:3 format.....it would be nice if they added 1080i support....

Running smoothly? For who? Certainly wasn't for me last night and that was after the update. Laggy, dropped players, levels taking forever to load......if that's running smooth I'd hate to see running rough.

Yeah, my levels were loading incredibly slow. At first, I thought it was me... Then, I joined other games and they ran into the same issue.

The servers went live before the patch hit. I was playing for a few hours and then a friend jumped on and tried to connect to me. It gave him a "could not connect due to different game version" error. That puzzled us a bit then he mentioned a patch and I said "wait, the patch from 2 days ago? or is there a new one?" Interesting thing was that it didn't kick me out of the online mode or anything. Anyways, I just exited and started it again, then lo and behold, 1.3!

Umm, I tried that and it wouldn't let us. Unless... are you talking about over the network or local? Because local has always worked.

This patch was huge for us last night. Me and 2 friends were lagging pretty hard the whole night, but after we downloaded the patch it was smooth sailing.

A friend and I who had un unplayable experience before the patch had an equally unplayable experience after it. Sackboys would float midair, then appear on the other side of the screen. They'd fall through the floor and come back up. If you tried to actually play a level you could forget about jumping or swinging. And the feet would get stuck to the floor sometimes and the polygons would stretch.

I'm very concerned if they think they actually fixed the issues and leave it like this.

Have you reported your problems? Because they can't fix what they don't know about...

Mine was running fine before and after. Occasional bouts of lag, but nothing huge. Though I have a very fast internet connection. Slight annoyances to me, could be huge problems for others with low bandwidth.

i played online by myself last night before the patch and it was working for me. played with the patch i got this morning and unlocked a bunch of community trophies to add to last nights

This update ruined my experience. Anytime in any mode I bring up the create tools, it slows down to like 1-2 frames per second and is completely unplayable. I alos still can't get to the servers.

The servers were up for most of the evening. Then the 1.03 patch came and then they died for a few hours.

Well I updated and cant connect to the server at all.. The game is functioning just fine offline though. I dont see any change there.

OK. finally got lbp from gamestop this afternoon. Popped in my disc and immediatly updated 1.03. Gotta message that says cannot connect to servers. I played the intro and starter level. Can I just say that , Sackboy is so damn Cute and I turn into a little weeping girl everytime he falls into the water. I love this little guy, cant wait til all the servers are up

When the servers are back up, I would like someone to just run through all the levels with. It is way more fun when you're with someone else.

I laughed so hard earlier today when someone I was playing with (online, the good ole' days of 6 hours ago) slapped me into a set of spikes.

I just want to get all the 2 player stuff, I feel the need to 100% everything.
