LittleBigWorkshop is here to help design your levels
Having trouble making your own level in LittleBigPlanet? Yeah, we're sure you're not alone; it's much tougher than it looks. However, with the help of the LittleBigWorkshop -- an official online workspace which links to your PSN account -- you can comfortably plan out your designs.
The most helpful tool on the website is the "blueprint room." It's a tool which allows the creator to plot out a blueprint of their level-to-be. DIY designers can then print out the blueprint for reference while editing their level in LittleBigPlanet. Sounds cool? Hit up the LittleBigWorkshop right away.

Awesome news!
I was worrying about making my own levels because i was no good on the beta
Gervin @ Nov 4th 2008 2:20PM
Definitely could be helpful. I have a bunch of great ideas, but always blank out when I get to the level designer.
Jerses @ Nov 4th 2008 2:26PM
i just tested it.... i prefer pencil and paper this tool isnt helping me at all but thats just me :P
joenorman @ Nov 4th 2008 2:31PM
Same
Personally I don't think it will help me in any way

"it's much easier than it looks."
Fixed it for ya.
Seriously, if you think LBP's create tools are difficult... I don't want to put you down but... really?
Hashbrown Hunter @ Nov 4th 2008 2:42PM
They're not saying that it's hard, they're saying that it's hard to use if you want to make something specific.
Voshempa @ Nov 4th 2008 2:46PM
Just because something comes "easily" to you does not mean that it should for everyone else. They get things that you don't. So seriously, if you think you're so special because you can use LBP's create tools, then I'm gonna have to put you down. Really.

The vast amount of tools and materials you can use is pretty impressive and almost overwhelming. It's kind of difficult to create a (good) level out of nowhere with no planning.

This just made it alot more tempting to buy the game.........I was afraid of a hard creation system!
XXX Off Topic XXX
In the mirrors edge demo, try jumping off a building, then press R1, quickly, this will make Faith (main character) turn 180 degrees. you can now see her hands and legs. I recommend pressing square now, to slow things down. Now press R2 (combat button) quickly and Faith will swear (put her index and middle fingers up). Is that meant to happen, or did they *sneak* it in? remember who found it! lmao! you'll have to press all the buttons, pretty quicky, but it's easy to do and kinda easy to notice.

Why the hell are you posting this everywhere? Go away
benny boy @ Nov 4th 2008 3:13PM
I know it's a bit off topic but I was just wondering if Stephen Fry does the voiceovers for the US version of LBP or if that was just for the UK?
I've heard an annoying sounding Australian guy do some voiceovers for some videos on the internet and I just wanted to make sure it's not him that narrates.
Thanks.
Mike @ Nov 4th 2008 3:37PM
Yes, he totally does for the US version - and it's awesome.
bluesky_v2.01 @ Nov 5th 2008 9:40PM
Yes, and he is awesome. Makes sitting through tutorials fun!
MR SMITH @ Nov 4th 2008 3:27PM
ahhh man I cant even use this because my laptop is messed up and I cant view anything which uses flash player. It just says I need 2 upd8 it but wen I do it still doesnt work and I have enabled it in IE7 :(
Mike @ Nov 4th 2008 3:37PM
Whatever brings more people up to speed and helps the community grow, the better. I've spent only a couple nights playing (rented, but will buy this weekend) and have yet to even dive into the editor. However, for some of us who work in creative professions and use design software, there may be a much less pronounced learning curve. So be it - either way it's good to see they are addressing the needs of those who don't necessarily pick up on the editing tools so quickly.
Deaddy @ Nov 4th 2008 3:40PM
Seems useless.
benny boy @ Nov 4th 2008 3:52PM
The blueprint is pretty much useless. It would be much easier to just draw your level design out.
I guess it's the thought that counts.
j.howlett @ Nov 4th 2008 5:00PM
looks like fun to play around with and an easy way to share ideas. i'm still going through tutorials in game but i finished the main chunk. i just have to go through some individual pieces.
tmontana213 @ Nov 4th 2008 5:23PM
I have a hard time coming up with ideas.
maroofh @ Nov 4th 2008 5:50PM

ocdog45 @ Nov 4th 2008 6:32PM
I just got this, so I will be playing this and this is a good starting point I guess.
tristan88 @ Nov 4th 2008 7:27PM
hopefully this helps. ive got so much work to do before i can actually make a good level.
nakedatthecomp @ Nov 4th 2008 9:20PM
To those who've beat the game already:
Do you recommend playing through tyhe game before creating a level, as you get more objects that way? I'm under the impression that's the only point of getting said objects in each level is to use them while creating more levels... so is that the case, or is everything available to everyone right away? It's never really been clarified for me.
bluesky_v2.01 @ Nov 5th 2008 9:44PM
I'm not sure why you're asking but i'll try to explain. You have to play a couple of levels before the creation mode is unlocked, that will take you about 20 mins. You dont have to beat the game to create interesting levels and the objects you pick up (except for materials) are mostly for decoration. Consider the story-mode an inspiration for yourself but if your head is bursting with ideas, go ahead and put them to action.
