How to access the adhocParty from the US
Those of you who are eager to try the adhocParty application we reported on last week are in luck, sort of. The good news is, gamers outside of Japan can also test out the service that lets PSP games with local AdHoc play to function over the internet via the PS3. The bad news is, you'll need:
- a PSP and PS3 with the latest firmware
- the PS3 must have Wi-Fi capabilities (any PS3 except for the 20GB SKU)
- the PS3 must be connected online with an ethernet cable and not a wireless connection
- a Japanese PSN account
- a game that works with the service; the only game confirmed so far is Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G

Wait...what's the point of having a PS3 with Wi-Fi capabilities if the PS3 must be connected through with an ethernet wire?

I think the Wifi is for the PSP, and the ethernet cable is for the internet, is weird, the Wii can have both the DS and wifi internet at the same time....

well i know the PS3 broadcast its own WiFi signal at cause mine always shows up on my laptops wireless manager. i dont understand why it cant use and broadcast a WiFi signal at the same time though since, as someone else stated, i can do that with my Wii and DS anytime.

Works for sure in US. playing now (and have been for 5 hours on mhf2 US) with 1.02 -- seems to have fixed some keyboard issues.

There won't be any other games added. Monster Hunter is enough for those guys over in Japan.

Actually, I saw a list with dozens of games that unofficially work with this service. Monster Hunter is just the only one that Sony is admitting works right now.
