Fat Princess coming 2009, says developer press release

A press release from Epic Games China has officially "announced" the "opening" of Titan Studios, the developer of the upcoming game. There are a few things we're confused by. First, why is Epic Games China opening a studio in Seattle? Last we checked, Seattle wasn't a part of China (unless, that is, the takeover has begun ...). Also, why is the studio being announced now? Maybe that's why Fat Princess is taking so long to develop! The studio wasn't actually official yet!
Titan Studios brings to it developers with experience at companies including Ubisoft, Epic Games, Scion Studios, Blizzard Entertainment and Lionhead Studios. Titan Studios is not only working on Fat Princess, but a number of other Unreal Engine 3 games, including a massively multiplayer online game.

I had no idea the game was being made with the UE3.
Perhaps Im not nearly as excited for this game has I have, until now, thought.

My only question here is...why use the UE3 for this game? what goods will it bring to it? the game still looks fun but for the time its taking for them to make this game it will more likely to cost $29.99 lets hope not.

Unreal Engine is used in a lot of games, not just big budget ones. For example, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars -- and that was a $10 PSN exclusive title.
Also, it doesn't cost these guys anything to use the Unreal Engine. They're owned by Epic Games.

They already licensed the UE3 and plan on to make numerous games on it. That's why they just make Fat Princess on the UE3, it saves them time. Especially since the PS3 is infamous for being harder to developer for.

This game looks super fun. Like a PSN version of castle crashers.
RazLeBoL @ Nov 11th 2008 4:45PM
Castle crashers is a Beat em up like final fight or the old ninja turtle arcade game.
Fat prince is a CTF game opposing 2 teams. Not the same at all.
