Valkyria Chronicles anime starts in Japan next Spring

If you've been playing Valkyria Chronicles you've probably noticed that the story is excellent and the characters are superbly lovable. We've actually thought a couple of times whilst playing that we'd love an anime based on the game. It seems our wishes have come true as it has been announced today that a series has been greenlit and will be shown in Japan in the Spring.

There's no indication on whether we'll ever see a localized version in the west. If you want to show Sega you're interested in an English voiced version, feel free to go ahead and buy the game. Anime fans and SRPG fans alike won't be disappointed. We'll have our full review up before the end of the week.

This game is fantastic! I am less than halfway through and the story is amazing. Its a poignant reminder of how valuable life is and what people really fight for in war. This game should be getting a lot more press, don't pass it up!

This game is amazing. I'm on chapter 11 right now. I'm a bit annoyed, since there's apparently only 18 chapters or something like that. But given that it's been taking me an hour or two per battle for the last few chapters, I've probably still got a lot of gameplay left.

Oh man awesome. And even if there's not a localised version, you can bet there'll be devious Internet people who'll fansub the show (not that I endorse that sort of thing..)

I love this game. It's probably going to be my game of the year. Everything about it is charming. I'll definitely replay it after I finish my first run-through. I just ordered some of the Trading Figures last night. With this news about the anime, hopefully more of these will be made.
