The fate of Red Baron Arcade is unclear

Our own contacts confirmed that Sierra Online is no more, but could not verify if the game has been canceled. "I can't confirm that the game itself has been canceled. Sierra Online is no longer however, so they won't publish."
Considering no one seems to know if the game exists anymore, it's probably safe to assume that the project is dead.

That sucks. From the videos it looks like it was pretty far along too. Just needed to up the framerate and let my dogfight my friends and it's a day1 purchase! Effing Actiblizzion.

Yes indeed, that's what I wanted, that's why I got Warhawk for the Dog Fighting, but I found I never use the planes in Warhawk, because I was looking for a different, more original dogfighting style.
Red Baron was my meal ticket.
PSN hasn't took the video of Red Baron off PSN either...

Well, as the article states, it's not necessarily canceled... it's fate is unclear. I would hope they'd be smart and polish it up and push it out anyways, because it seems like it wouldn't take much to finish it based on the video. Distribution costs is a null factor with PSN too.

Aw, I was looking forward to it.

OT: It appears the store is down for me.

Well that's really too bad. I wonder what really happens with these game after they are so close to release. I mean by the trailer you would think the thing was practically done and if they were predicting a September release then it probably was but oh well. Must suck to be one of the developers that worked on it for so long :( Maybe Activision will eventually publish it on the network.

Well thats just great. I was hoping for this game to come out for some time now, and then we see Actiblizz pull off another doozy. Really hating this joint venture between the 2.
At least Ghostbusters found a publisher (Atari).
CrimsonFox13 @ Nov 13th 2008 5:41PM
That really really stinks. I was looking forward to this game so much. Why can't Sony just publish it!?

I guess they decided it wasn't "annualizable"

That's just sad, I've been craving a WWI combat shooter for years now, I have hours and hours of fond memories fighting the same dogfights over and over in the original.
