Soul Eater becomes anime fighting game

If an anime gets popular enough in Japan, you know it will undoubtedly get a 2D fighting game on the PSP. That's just how things work. So, Soul Eater, Japan's latest obsession with death gods, was an obvious next-in-line candidate for PSP fighting game treatment.

Not much is known about this adaptation, but we doubt much more needs to be known. Check out Famitsu for screenshots -- as seems standard for PSP fighting games, the screens sure do look pretty. Now, the question remains: what are the odds this will ever see light of day out of Japan?

I dunno anything bout this Soul Eater thing, but screenies look nice. And... I LOVE fighting games. Sad thing is, the odds of this getting outta Japan are near to Zero. Even less than that, actually.

Handheld fighters don't make sense to me, and this one doesn't even look like a good one. At least with a console, only one person has to own the system + game in order to play with a friend, but handheld games are usually just you and the CPU, and that's pretty boring. Once adhoc party gets to the US it might be better...

There are several good fighters on the PSP such as Bleach: HTS series and the Naruto series fighters and several with ad hoc.

the Japanese seem to like the rpg-fighting-slash games like this. While we have the fps, racing and sports games

Doubt that this will make it to the states. Bleach is pretty popular in the states, and they didn't release the latest games here. I doubt they will do the opposite for Soul Eaters.

I was so pumped when i learned about this last week, soul eater is a great anime and since this is a fighter im importing for sure like i did with the heat the soul series

if anyones into anime i recommend SE its so much better than most the crap out now
