Who watches the Watchmen? You do - in Home
Home version 1.00 is a great improvement, as we've now said several times since its release yesterday, but there's still a distinct problem regarding a lack of content. For example, the European movie theater has ten screens, but only three are actually showing anything. Despite that, it's still worth visiting if only to check out the latest Watchmen trailer. Film marketing company PPC (Picture Production Company) has been the first to jump on the Home bandwagon with this early closed beta trailer release.
We're promised that this isn't the last we'll hear from Watchmen in Home, and that there will be an announcement about "some very exciting movie related activity next month." Home has a broad scope for marketing potential, what with costumes, interactive objects and full environments all being possible. Hopefully we'll see Watchmen related content in all of these categories. We're very much looking forward to hearing what PPC have in store for Home.

If they ever start actually showing real movies in home, like real time movies you can go watch with your friends etc... Then, and only then, will I think Home was worth the wait. Unless I'm unaware of some other possibilities that would make home worth it.
browntown @ Nov 21st 2008 9:44PM
You probably have no idea what Home is actually about.
kentuckyfried @ Nov 21st 2008 11:20PM
One huge feature that I hope hasn't been pulled is the ability to set up a private room and then share video footage that you've either recorded or downloaded off of the web.
That is HUGE.
Right now, it's relatively not an easy task to coordinate watching video between separate people in two different geographical locations. Having a single shared interface to "sit" down and watch the same footage is critical.
anthonyjh @ Nov 22nd 2008 9:01PM
I'll send someone a large box of Christmas meats if they give me a HOME key. SERIOUSLY! THIS STUFF IS DELICIOUS!
Really though, please people? :(

Autopsy15 @ Nov 24th 2008 2:44AM
No, no. We speak English here.
Fane @ Nov 25th 2008 5:07PM
I disagree. Latin FTW.
Jake @ Nov 21st 2008 7:14PM
when i heard you could watch films with friends i thought it ment you could stream a film off your ps3 and have a mate into your virtual home to watch it will you over the internet
was this ever going to happen or did i just think it up? lol
Nick @ Nov 21st 2008 7:26PM
I read that as well.
devilmaker @ Nov 21st 2008 7:37PM
From what I read in previos news, I thought the removed it. Because I know you were supossedly able to previously.
Hife @ Nov 21st 2008 7:40PM
That was the plan, but legal issues forced them to nix that feature. They say they are working on it though.
Kspraydad @ Nov 21st 2008 8:27PM
Yes...that was the plan in HOME (and Xbox later announced a similar plan)...both have been shelved for now due to licensing issues.
Autopsy15 @ Nov 24th 2008 2:45AM
I'm pretty sure you can still put videos up in your apartment to play for all to see.
Gambit07 @ Nov 21st 2008 7:43PM
Got my HOME invite, repeat HOME invite. I am a god to all HOMELESS people.
Griever92 @ Nov 22nd 2008 5:21AM
I've been in the beta since day 1 of the "closed" beta, does that make me your god?
Autobot @ Nov 22nd 2008 3:51PM
I too am god to all homeless people, but here's the solution to some of your friends that are homeless: Let them on your account, tell them to go to Previous Downloads and have them download it on to their system. Foolproof, except for the 1-time fee after downloading more than 5 times for one item.
Xphere @ Nov 21st 2008 8:06PM
>_< i want to "play" home beta!! XD
anyone can invite me please?
ps3fanboy rulzzz!!! :)

Ghost inthe Shell @ Nov 21st 2008 9:57PM

Roto13 @ Nov 21st 2008 10:44PM

PoisonedV @ Nov 21st 2008 11:13PM
:( Alan Moore is turning over in his- oh yeah, he's still alive...
rgoff31 @ Nov 22nd 2008 12:15AM
It's confusing, there is no closed beta forum to register into now, so does that mean the NDA is removed? Can we post stuff from home or not?
Of the JPN/EU/US layouts, I like the JPN layout, then the EU, and the US one comes in dead last. Japan has the TGS2008 and that amazing layout, EU has a GREAT Theater, and the US is looking pretty blah.
MaliceMajorE15 @ Nov 22nd 2008 3:06AM
BTW in the EU home there may only be three things advertised but all ten screen do show various trailers of games and stuff. u just gotta go in and see. despite this there is still a lack of content and we are missing a lot of the stuff we had before the v1.00.17 update
ANNONIMUS @ Nov 22nd 2008 8:03AM
with the new 1.0 cums a security flaw you can now game share it with your friends all thy need to do is go to your dl histery and dl your old home file then instal it when it updates to 1.0 thy can get on from ther account with no probloms
ZeroCorpse @ Nov 22nd 2008 10:45AM
Finally got my Home invite yesterday.
I guess NDA forbids me from sharing anything about it, but I will say this: I hope there are more "starter" clothes for avatars when they actually launch it than there are in Beta.
I'm sick of seeing guys all wearing the same shirts!
Ebel3003 @ Nov 22nd 2008 11:16AM
I have nothing to say about the article, but I've just had a flashback to my childhood thanks to your title.
Man, those Watchkins... Who was watching them?
SickofSony @ Nov 22nd 2008 1:56PM
I am sick of reading about all of these Home beta testers-as if you are all somehow "privileged". I could really care less - Sony has continued to lie, mislead and otherwise destroy their P.R. for over 2 years on this HOME thing and now I get to read endlessly about the "privileged" few "testers" who have nothing better to do with their lives than set up pretend living spaces, play video pool and bowling, watch movie trailers, dance with avatars and hinge on the word of some dork named "TedTheDog"-are you waiting for the next iteration of Barbie too? Do you own dollhouses? is this really what it has come to??...get real losers!
bud_toker_13 @ Nov 22nd 2008 2:07PM
looks like someone is upset thy didnt get a invite home is about more then the privet space its a 3d public forum for gamers to come together and talk about what matters to them like any other forum
anthonyjh @ Nov 22nd 2008 9:03PM
SoS, get some poon man. Seriously. Your brain is frying.
SickofSony @ Nov 22nd 2008 2:25PM
About what I expected--a return comment from some "Bud Toker"!! First of all, too much bud dude....you forgot how to spell - second, I'll say it again- GET A LIFE! Have fun with your social "interactions" too-sounds just thuper.
bugatti23007 @ Nov 22nd 2008 4:32PM
Look who's talking coming back online to comment aren't you a hypocrite.Home is awesome its everything Sony said they would do its not easy to make Home and there are no glitches. We do have a life we just know how to balance time for everything we like unlike you.Stop being whiny.
MBO @ Nov 22nd 2008 10:58PM
