MTV: Crisis Core is 'The whole world in your pocket'
According to MTV Germany's 2008 Game Awards show, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is this year's best handheld title (AKA, "The Whole World in Your Pocket" Award). The Square Enix game that prequels the popular PSOne title, Final Fantasy VII, beat out other franchise software such as God of War: Chains of Olympus, and Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and Guitar Hero: On Tour.
It even had beaten Patapon to a pulp -- which was an all new, original title that came out this year. Overall, Crisis Core overcame some tough odds beating out strong competition. Congrats go out to you Crisis Core.

Notice 3 of the top 5 games listed are PSP games, including the top 2.

beautiful screenshot. It's better than God of War cutscenes

I'm not sure I agree with it. I thought Crisis Core was way too easy. There was not one point in the game that I wanted to chuck my PSP across the room.
Every Squeenix game I have played has had at least one terribly frustrating enemy. Not so with Crisis Core.
Patapon on the other hand was a new, fresh idea that had it's fair share of bang-head-on-wall moments.

I didn't like Patapon at all, but that's just me. Oh, and regarding Crisis Core: I don't think it's the greatest game gameplay-wise, but it just exhudes production values... so IMO it's a good landmark point on how great PSP games can be if companies put some dough and lovin' into it.

Chains of Olympus trumps every single game on that list IMO... its by far the best handheld game I had ever played, and I had my fair share ;)
And Phantom Hourglass ? :o Wow... that game is soooo last year :))

It's nice to see my favorite handheld game getting some more recognition.

all of those games are awesome (ok guitar hero's not..)
but crisis core not only has the best story and the longest play time but because of the missions it keeps up on being a pick and play.
I think it deserves the award because of that.

Awesome! Crisis Core definitely deserves it! Absolutely amazing game with wonderful characters and a great story.

I really don't get all the hype about GoW. It's just an action game. We've seen it before. Is it because there are tits in it? Is that why people are so ga-ga over that game?
Dahk @ Nov 25th 2008 3:31AM
Lol that should be an easy one to describe. Lemme try.
Amaaazing graphics on a handheld with brilliant animations, mostly-solid framerate throughout, great story tying together a lot of the Greek mythology stuff in pretty cool way, satisfying button mashing and skill uses, and some whicked levels.
Granted there are a bunch of issues like the bothersome cutscenes right after a checkpoint, a bit repetitive, and its a tad short =P. But hell, I enjoyed the hell out of it.
Dahk @ Nov 25th 2008 3:27AM
I'm actually playing right now!
Although I love the story, I'm actually getting frustrated with it. I have a habit of trying to get 100% on everything, and these missions are hell boring =/

not very surprising.since its the best game on psp!
