MGO update version 1.20 contains new modes and more

Update version 1.20 has hit Metal Gear Online. Not only does it bring all the new characters and maps of the MEME expansion, the update will have some freebies. Notable changes include the a "headshots invalid lobby" which will disable all one-hit KOs from headshots, an "Interval" rule that allows for games that won't influence your online stats and a "Stealth Deathmatch" mode where all players are equipped with Stealth Camouflage. 11/25/2008 MGO Client Updated to Ver.1.20

The Client has been updated following the release of "MEME EXPANSION". Updates include:

■All alterations

・New skills
・Change of skill specification

・New rules:

Interval
Games by this rule doesn't influence the record.
You can add "Interval" to rule sycle.

Stealth Deathmatch

All players are equipped with "Stealth Camouflage".
It is unique rules such as the range of the action is limited and the alarm function which reacts to the enemy.

・New BGMs
・Change of weapon specification

・New explanation of weapon
・New functions "Skill Set" and "Gear Set"
・Briefing Screen appears changed
・The Game Screen appears changed
・New Gears

*Some of new Gears cannot be bought without MEME EXPANSION.

■Lobby

・The icon was added to the lobby name in "Lobby Select" menu.
・The time which can enter the survival lobby was restricted.
・Automatching lobby was divided into the following:

*Only for users who have bought the "MGO MEME EXPANSION". All stages are playable.
*Normal lobby. The stages added with GENE are playable.
*Only for biginner.

・Survival lobby was divided into the following:

*Only for users who have bought the "MGO MEME EXPANSION". All stages are playable.
*Normal lobby. The stages added with GENE are playable.
*Only for biginner.
*Tournament lobby is only available for users who have bought the "MGO MEME EXPANSION".

・The headshots invalid lobby was added.

*Headshot is not effective in this lobby.

■Ranking

・The figure of the displayed ranking was increased.
・The quantity of the ranking which moves by the left button or the right button was changed from 100 into 2500.
・When viewing personal details, the page of a corresponding rule will be opened by the default.
・The GRADE display of the player details was unified with "Community Support Page".

■SURVIVAL

・The total number of the Teams currently in battle is added to "Survival match List".
・"Clan Members Only" is added to the stance of "Creat Team". *When enabled this stance, only members of your clan will be able to join the team.
・"Clan Members Only" is added to the condition of the filtering stance of "Team Select".
・On the screen of "TEAM CREATION" and "WAITING ROOM", the icon of "Spanner" is displayed next to the character name who exists in "Personal" menu etc.

■Others

・"Radar orientation" added in "Gameplay Options".
・The check menu of whether to change equipment was added in "Appearance Settings". The menu will be displayed when you select the gear which needs to remove current equipment.
・The icon of EXPANSION which shows the owned pack was added to "Personal Stats".
・The icon of "Beginner" added to the "Personal Stats" of biginners.
・The E-mail Address was changed from "GM" to "CS"(Customer Support).
・The new functions "Delete all read messages", "Delete all messages from a particular sender" and "Delete all messages" added to inbox of Mail.
・Decision method of the "Beginner" was changed.
・"EXPANSION PACK" is added to the condition of the filtering stance of "Free Battle".
・The display was added to appear when Riward Points was earned at the time of login and the Automatching play.
・The display of the current Riward was changed on the Personal menu.
・Warning is displayed when playing for a long time.
　 *The first warning is displayed after 3 hours. When further 2 hours pass, it is displayed for every hour.
・The score came to be added through assistance action.
・Change in the specification of the level up.
・If you Quit the game before finish, the record will be added to your profile.
・The icon of "Friendly Fire" and "Voice Chat" and "Lock on" were added to "COMMON SETTINGS" of Free Battle and Survival.
・The camera was added to the equipment of Mk.II
・The function which turns OFF a text chat was added to the "MUTE" menu of "BRIEFING"
・When one of the team disappeared from the Free Battle, the game becomes invalid match.

■For MEME EXPANSION only

・New Maps:

Forest Firefight (F.F.)
Silo Sunset(S.S.)
Winter Warehouse (W.W.)

・New unique characters:

LIQUID OCELOT
Special Weapon:G.O.P. and THOR .45-70
MEI LING
Special Weapon:MISSOURI and Soliton Sonar

・New game mode "Tournament"

The tournament is a reservation system, the participant reserves from the tournament lobby in advance, and held at the schedule time.

I love the MGS series to the point where I would let it do unspeakable things to me were it a real person (very much preferablly a girl). I could never get into this game though. MGO just doesnt feel right to me.

Love MGO but have moved on of late. Best update would have been to move this to PSN so the teamsneak wait would be less than 3minutes (more people). Stealth deathmatch has potential to be bad ass. I also think trophies will be part of the MGS4 remake Kojima inevitably will release. Imagine having that BBE Platinum trophy in your "Home" trophy case for all to adore and drool upon.

yes. i have both and i put many hours in to this game all ready. as for socom, i put it in my ps3 maybe once or twice since the day after launch day.

mgo + headset that came with socom = pure bliss.

i downloaded the free update from http rather than p2p and it downloaded in like 20 minutes. i need to get the meme update though.

oh and the new level is cool too.

MGO imo is much deeper and more diverse than SOCOM. You can link SOP so know exactly what your teammates are doing but you can also hack your enemy's SOP to see everyone's location. Laying p0rn mags to distract your enemy while you sneak behind them and choke them to death. MGO has a lot of varieties and has a perk system like COD4 where you can have special skills.

MGO may not be as realistic as SOCOM but it's still much better. And SOCOM confrontation sucked anyways, there's no argument against that.

Wow I'm pretty busy with Cod5 but I think I'm going to start playing MGO again now with this new update out...seems like they fixed alot of stuff, and added much new content.

I would always advise people download via HTTP rather than P2P as it seems much more reliable. Unless of course you get an error message but I've used HTTP to update quickly since the first patch.

The 10,000 pts are awarded to anybody who logins between now and Dec 9th. The 10,000 isn't handed to you until the 9th, I read.

MGO is fun, but I have a feeling that the inevitable "Director's Cut" of MGS4 will have a seperate disc dedicated to MGO ala MGS3Subsistence, and it will likely include all of the expansion packs. I also have a feeling that the rerelease is the reason we're not seeing a trophy/custom soundtrack patch. That will likely be another "feature" exclusive to the release.

And since I always double-dip and end up buying the rereleases, I'd rather not buy the expansions now and get screwed over later.

I have a problime after i downloaded the new update ver 1.20 .... i cant log in after i choose my charctoer keep giving me this msg: A network server error has occurred, Unable to download data. ???!!!! what i can do now??? i contact the MGO support but they never replay.!!

Can anyone help please?? Im having a problem with my game, it seems that after everytime that I download the patch and try to log in it says "Network Server Error Not able to download data.(19E0:00010001)! Can anyone pleeeeaaasseeeeee help me ive been trying to fix this problem for almost 7hrs T_T its a real pain in the neck =((
