Tenchu 4 confirmed for the PSP

According to this Famitsu scan, Tenchu 4 will be coming to the PSP afterall. Rumors abound last month about a possible port of Tenchu: Shadow Assassins (the official title in the US) proved to be true -- the game will be released in Japan on February 12th of next year for 5,040 yen. Ubisoft's US press release for the game issued back in September indicated the game will be exclusive to the Wii, so no one knows yet whether we'll get the port here in the States.

I would love to buy this game. I have not played any thing on the PSP in a long time. GOW and CC were my last games I got. That were really good.
Kattleox @ Nov 26th 2008 11:36AM
Maybe it was a timed exclusive. Its exclusivity has since ended, but for a week or two it WAS indeed exclusive, kinda like Assassins Creed or DMC4.

Confirmed? GREAT! The first PSP Tenchu kinda left a bitter taste in my mouth with all of its technical issues, so I'm really looking forward to some decent, refined Tenchu. Hope the guys responsible really milk the PSP's power this time around.
Oh. And make it extra gory and violent, please!

.....I hate to be the one to destroy all your hopes, but when was the last time a Tenchu game was even half-decent?
It's a third-tier game to Ninja Gaiden. Yeah it skipped a whole level.
cafecito @ Nov 26th 2008 1:08PM
Ninja Gaiden is a whole different beast. There' s no stealth there, just frantic action. It's a great series, but as a whole, I still like Tenchu more.... since ninjas, for me, are all about stealth kills and missions. I won't deny it tho, there hasn't been a -great- Tenchu game since the 3rd one, but I still keep my hopes up.

Is that a cat he's holding?
Why is he holding a cat?
Consider my curiosity piqued.

Maybe it's a Postal-style silencer? ;) Meeeow!
dabamf @ Nov 26th 2008 3:47PM
Good call. I thought he was trying to go assassinate a cow...that walks on two legs. Maybe the cat has rabies...slow death ftw!!!
GoBob @ Nov 26th 2008 12:07PM
Oh boy! Ports!

It's like Christmas a day before Thanksgiving...only all your gifts are filled with baby barf.
dabamf @ Nov 26th 2008 3:38PM
Is that a ninja about to assassinate a cow? LoL.
"Wrath of Heaven" was one of my favorite games on the PS2. My brothers and I used to battle each other in the versus mode, which always degraded into "Who's going to get to the explosives first?"
kappa @ Nov 26th 2008 2:20PM
Despite all the hate the series has gotten, for some reason I've liked every iteration that came out for the PSX and PS2 so you can bet that I'm looking forward to this coming out in the U.S.

For all those who're looking for a solid PSP game, try the obscure yet great game, Kingdom of Paradise (Key of Heaven in Europe). Don't be fooled by the box art. There's a solid game in there, and I've been enjoying it for 10 hours now. It's not-your-average RPG, however. Not that cliched story you'd usually come to expect from a JRPG. It's very serious and set in a heavily infused asian environment.

Kingdom of Paradise is great, but I think the story is pretty much clichéd. One of the greatest Action RPGs the PSP has to offer tho, along with Gurumin.
Jacksons @ Nov 26th 2008 10:03PM
Kingdom of Paradise and Gurumin...loved them both.
lorddshadow2 @ Nov 27th 2008 1:04AM
it's on the ps store too...in america at least...
