Yet another batch of Home invites go out

Yep. Looks like the Home "closed beta" isn't really too closed anymore. Today marks yet another massive update for the long-awaited PSN service. Check your e-mail as you may have received a code for the beta. Once again, Sony appears to be stress-testing the servers. Join tonight at 8PM-10PM (5PM-7PM PST) to partake in the stress test. Considering the rapid expansion of the beta, we wouldn't be surprised if Sony really did open Home to everyone by year's end.

thats the key i got sent for the home beta, havent used it, not sure if its linked to my psn id, but if they aren't have at it. I have no plans of using home so the invite might as well be put to good use.

you can't do that, i heard its specific to accounts or you get banned or sumthin

i got in the over week, its all exciting for like 2minutes, then the loads bore you, and then actually using it is boring, hope more things get added, just nothing to do with it and half the stuff don't work :(

It's lame... If you don't have a job, family, school, g/f, wife, pet, computer, friends, any video games, and you don't have any desire to do anything except sit motionless and staring at a t.v. pretending to interact w/ others in a fake community with other ppl of like mind, you might like it, but if not, it's frickin lame........

I got in. I gotta say it looks promising, but it's hard to tell what it will be like with such a lack of detail in the beta.

Runs well though, and I guess that's the whole point of the beta... remember, it's not a trial/demo. They're only inviting us to do load tests and find/fix bugs.

So, I hope they have more things ready for the release than is actually in there. Also, they really need to have pool animations. It's pretty strange to see 2 people just standing next to a pool table when they're supposedly playing. Nice screens everywhere, now just show more than one continuously looping ad. I hope the theater actually shows movies instead of ads. And I hope we can launch more games than just Warhawk. Warhawk is great, but not all my friends play it.

Actually, the Warhawk community is what I'm really looking forward to. Getting together in a war room and then jumping into a game together... now that's cool.

i think its pretty obvious that it will definitely come out this year. unluss they find some huge bug that will blow up PS3's it'll be out sometime in december

I still haven't received an invite. The amount of money I've spent in the PS store would put a child through college and I downloaded the theme. So much for it being anything other than random.

You tell me!!! i have spend like $100 on the store. This invitations are totally random or maybe its because im from Mexico and HOME will be region locked when out. But oh well, its not like we have to wait too much for this to come out...play with it for less than a week and forget about it because there still good games to play this and the next year

I know what you mean, I wish there was some form of intelligent choosing for who gets what invites. Launch day purchaser, spent a bank bailout on games/PS Store yet no invite (for ANYTHING, let alone Home), but someone I know who got a PS3 last month asked me recently what "Home" was because he got quote "a beta key or something" for it. Unbelievable! Think of all those keys gone a-wasting.

You won't get an invite if your psn account says you're under 18, the open beta will only be allowed to people over the age of 16 I think.

Which is why I welcome the future prospects of trophies determining invites to games/events. I know people who might play like an hour of a random sports game a week and then log out got in.

Don't worry about not getting in yet. You're not missing much. You can play a few games that are fun for about 10 minutes, then you can rearrange the 7 different items you can have in your home, or choose from the 6 different wallpapers.

Once they really open up the service, then it'll be worth having. Right now the beta is definitely intentionally crippled.

Totally agree. So far, there's almost nothing to do in Home. Pool tables, Bowling lanes, and arcarde machine are almost always full. What happened to the game spaces.

Oh wow... I got an invite and I've only had my PS3 for about 3 months.

Nor have I bought anything from the PSN store... made a few downloads.

I did buy things for Metal Gear Online... and I got Mirror's Edge the day it came out... hmm... that's all I can really see for my inclusion

I've had my ps3 since release, i'm signed up to PS underground and have spent over $100 on the PSN store. . . the only thing i got was an invite to the LBP beta 2 days before it closed (but who didn't get into that?). So this is just another swift kick in the balls for me. thanks Sony.

i never downloaded the theme....... and i dont have quore......... what i do have is a playstation underground account......The day after the AX hit underground i got a HOME invite. Just be patient. Im willing to bet that HOME will be out by Christmas. If not new years.

Its worth the wait. At least to me it is. everything is looking realy good so far.
