Colin M. asks: When will the ceramic white and silver DualShock3 controllers be available in North America? Is it worth the wait or should I just pay the extra shipping?
PS3F answers: That wait might be forever, Colin. Last we heard, Sony has no plans to bring the white or silver controllers (and their respective consoles) out in North America. We reported on that sometime early this year. Since then, we haven't heard much about anything in that regard. With all the new peripheral Sony is focusing on lately (such as the official Bluetooth headset and the wireless keypad), it looks like these specialty DualShock controllers are not on Sony's agenda at the moment -- or it's somewhere at the very bottom. Import them if you really want them.
x3r9g6 asks: There have been some conflicting opinions on which is better: a PS3 game on Blu-ray disc or the same game downloaded off the PlayStation Store. All I wanna know is if I download the full game of WipEout HD, it would be the exact same thing as having the disc except it uses hard drive memory and I don't have a disc to carry around, right? It might even load faster than the disc. I read some other comments about how the graphics look better when running the disc.
PS3F answers: You really shouldn't compare the two in terms of "what is better" because neither is a better option over the other. They both serve their purposes and have their own benefits. In the case of WipEout HD, it's a rather small game. It only takes up 1GB. Putting it on a single-layered Blu-ray with storage capacity of 25GB seems a wee impractical, doesn't it? It also doesn't seem practical to put Metal Gear Solid 4 on the PS Store as a 50GB downloadable title -- even for those who have massive HDDs installed in their PS3s. Is a 50GB download worth the extra few seconds shave off load times? Is it really that much more of a convenience than carrying a plastic case around?
If we were to talk about UMDs and PSP, however, that's a different story. The benefits of having digitally distributed PSP games greatly outweighs those of having UMDs -- considering that most games will not take up much space, will load faster, and the ease of mobility is better felt.

Ricardo S. asks: So, I have an American PS3 and PSN account. Why can't I access the Movie Store?
PS3F answers: The region of your console does not matter. While you may have an American PSN account, there is one more additional thing you will need. You must be physically in the United States to gain access to the movies section. The store scans for your IP Address as you login.
Buzz W. asks: If I stop a movie during playback on my PS3 it won't resume from where I left off when I hit play again. How come my regular DVD players does this and the PS3 won't?
PS3F answers: Buzz, you probably don't have the latest firmware on your system since this feature was added in a few updates ago. You can stop playback, return to the XMB, pop out the disc, put in a game, and play for awhile. Then when you return to your movie, it'll continue play exactly where it previously left off. Now how's that for you?
Rolo V asks: At exactly what time of day does the PlayStation Store update on Thursdays? Does it depend on my timezone? I'm in the Central timezone if you were wondering.
PS3F answers: There is no fixed time; however, expect North American content to appear as early as 4pm Eastern time, 1pm Pacific. Content can appear late into the evening as well. Also, keep in mind that not all content will appear on the store in full right away -- you may see an item that's in our weekly update, but it won't appear in the Store until a little while later.

TinyTim121 @ Nov 29th 2008 9:41AM
Sounds like your screwed mate.
Did a bit of googling, and it sounds like this code appears in pretty much most beta's.
On a Resistance 2 beta forum here:
http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu/board/message?board.id=419&message.id=66791
One guy (Tazzy1992) said: "dude the code u got is for a american account.. because the european beta dont start till monday so the codes for SCEE will be sent out monday
the code u got is SCEA coz the beta started today
how to solve the problem is to use it on ur american account if u got 1"
So yeah - hoped that helped. Enjoy the beta if you get in.

No very Smart to sell your login information, when the person could get purchase more items from your credit card.
Dan @ Nov 29th 2008 11:18AM
as far as I know there is no expiration date on the home beta. I have no ps3 right now cuz mine died, but I just looked at the email and I do not see a expiration date
vir1980 @ Nov 29th 2008 5:01PM
Hey, talkin about home, how do you enter the far cry 2 space?
ArcAngel @ Nov 29th 2008 9:21AM
I ALWAYS buy the disk version rather than to download from PSN store if I can because you can resell or trade in hard copies of games but with downloads you're out of luck.
Cameron @ Nov 29th 2008 9:42AM
It is possible to sell games you've downloaded from the PSN. You sell the login of your PSN on ebay or forums and that allows the buyer to download that game and any others you have bought. Although i really don't recommend it i have seen it done.
iamkid @ Nov 29th 2008 11:12AM
while im sure people have done that cameron, that is a really, REALLY dumb thing to do. dont forget you have the credit card info and other stuff in there, they can just go in and buy all they want, unless you remember to remove it. plus you lose your friend list.
Kinsey @ Nov 29th 2008 12:39PM
I used to think that way, wanting always a hard copy of a game, and I generally still feel that way. However I found that certaing games (like small ones mentioned above) or even casual games are quite handy in the HD. I d/l both Burnout and Warhawk off the Store just for the convenience of it. Just load up play a game or 2 and shut it off. Hell i may even buy Socom off the store and give my hard copy version to someone else or sell it. But majority of the games I'll still want a physical disc.
Clopsy @ Nov 29th 2008 12:43PM
Usually if they sell there account it is not their main account. They have another account in which they download and can sell. Plus, if you aren't smart enough to remove your billing information...seriously. -.-
Not that I recommend it, but it's not so horrible.
I think Sony should make a gift option. For you to buy a game or something on the PS store and give it to a friend.
ArcAngel @ Nov 29th 2008 2:13PM
I believe Sony also recently started going after account swappers (don't remember where I read it but I was about to swap some rockband downloads with a real life friend when I read about it and decided not to bother).

ahh, i love my ceramic white DS3, it looks great. having an awesome color controller is well worth the extra 10 dollars.
AltCtrlPwn @ Nov 29th 2008 8:25PM
I like its look so much I'm contemplating buying the white DS3 even though I don't NEED another controller. My black one might become the "guest" controller . . .
iamkid @ Nov 29th 2008 9:55PM
thats exactly what happened to me. it looks so great compared to the black. it was love at first sight when i saw it.
Barry32171 @ Nov 29th 2008 11:38AM
Internet Radio, like the PSP has... Would be nice to have, IMHO.
nighttime__ @ Nov 30th 2008 8:29PM

Khaled @ Nov 29th 2008 5:58PM
Whats winamp remote? Can you please give a link?
nighttime__ @ Nov 29th 2008 10:57PM
@Khaled
https://winamp.orb.com/orb/html/login.html
it comes standard with winamp, and you can also use it to stream content on your pc (video, music, pictures) to your xbox, wii and ps3!
joelderuyter @ Nov 29th 2008 12:26PM
yeah buzz w, i have the same problem and i do have the latest firmware update. i would love to know what the issue is so i can fix it.
Quest @ Nov 29th 2008 12:48PM
I got my first and only dual shocks in Ceramic White from Play-Asia in the spring. They were on sale, so even with the shipping, it was a similar cost to buying the black ones here.
The "cool" effect was worth the overage!

That's not the real truth. If the Blu-ray supports BD Java it won't work. Like Memoirs of a Geisha, Big Fish.
But strangely Fight Club works :D Well I don't know either ;)
luis @ Nov 30th 2008 9:43PM
where can i buy used games for ps3 or in what store are special offers
tristan88 @ Nov 29th 2008 7:37PM
i took out a bluray disc hoping that it would resume where i left off, but it didnt. as i know this is a feature i was pretty disappointed. not a huge deal though.
Spoon @ Nov 29th 2008 10:41PM
Why import white/silver Dual Shock 3s when you can get them from Amazon for $10 less with free shipping? Seriously.

The 2.52 firmware leaves out BD/DVD resume. I checked and was shocked.

Does anyone know how to get internet explorer on ps3 or any other way to get netflix thru ps3
fiziks @ Nov 30th 2008 6:34PM
Well let's see, I wanna ask ps3f something this week... firstly, 1) Is there a way I can use my component cable as an RCA cable? (I know this is not strictly a ps3-related question, but my cats chewed up my RCA cord and I'd like to know if it's necessary to purchase a new one if I have a component cable, i have a standard definition TV with only RCA inputs)? ..and, 2) is there a way I can make XMB my default boot even if the last instance I started up was linux (as you know, if you startup linux and shut it down, when you start it up again the GRUB, or whatever bootloader you chose, boots by default), also 3) I wanna know why, in the store, my VIDEO download list shows only 4 movies, and not the 4 latest movies like it should, but 4 random ones which i purchased long ago and have deleted.. why 4, and why not the 4 latest?
luis @ Nov 30th 2008 9:43PM
can i listen music from ipod when i'm plaiyng resistance 2 or nfs undercover?
