Awesome Street Fighter IV resource and Mad Catz official controllers
Whether you are new to the franchise or you've been pumping quarters into the arcades since 1991, there's a great Street Fighter IV article over at Eventhubs everyone should check out. For beginners, there are some extremely helpful basic gameplay details. For more advanced players, they have a character tier ranking chart as well as a comprehensive guide for every single character in the game. Finally, for those of us who can't wait till February for the game to come out on the PS3, they even have an list of locations where an arcade machine could be found. Check all of that out here.
In other SFIV affairs, it was reported a while back that Mad Catz will be producing the official SFIV arcade sticks. They are finally here, albeit at quite a premium. The most expensive version, ostentatiously named the "official Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition controller," will run you $149.99. It features the "exact Sanwa joystick and 30mm buttons found in official Street Fighter IV arcade machines, along with realistic spacing and an eight-button layout." A more recession-friendly version that lacks the Sanwa joystick is priced at $69.99. Finally, those of you who are really strapped for cash can select the $39.99 wireless Fightpad that contains "a circular 8-way floating D-Pad and a classic six-button layout." It comes in 5 equally delicious flavors: Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Blanka and Akuma.

I was worried when I heard Mad Catz where doing the official controller, but with Sanwa components (although I've never liked their pushbuttons, but I can see their value in a *fighting* setup) my mind is at ease.

I could understand one misspelling of Mad Catz but multiple? So it must be true but who the hell is Mad Cartz?

Sorry, but those are NOT arcade joysticks. Those stupid bubble shaped handles, uuughhh, I can't stand those cursed plastics.

Well, those are what I learned on from 91-9x arcade machines. Some machines had the blister-inducing broom handle joysticks, which actually make it harder to pull off dragon punches and other things that require rolling.

The ball-top with convex buttons is the Japanese arcade style (which is what most "hardcore" fighting game players prefer). The bat-top with concave buttons is the American arcade style.

I want the fightpad actually. I've always sucked when playing on Arcade sticks, but loved the Mega Drive/Sega Saturn d-pads for SF and other Capcom fighters.

I'll be picking up both the tourni and fighting pad. God I love Street Fighter. One for home use, one for on the road.

I hope my Hori Soul Calibur IV stick works well for this. Buying a new huge stick for each fighting game isn't exactly practical.
Is there one for Tekken?

I wish there was a control pad out there now for Street Fighter II HD. It's not fun playing on the Hori Fighting Sticks I got from Wal-mart back in March, 2007. Maybe these joysticks have just turned me off to joysticks in general, but I want a control pad now. I remember back in 2004 I was enjoying playing SF3 on my PS2 with those collector's edition control pads.
I think I may have them. Is there a way to use them w/ my PS3?

Let me say, I played this game last night at china town in NYC. WOW this game is friggggggggen unreal. I loved the gameplay which def is going to take alot of getting use to. I'm unreal in street fighter HD. I kick almost everyone's butt. I GOT MY BUTT HANDED TO ME OVER AND OVER AND OVER. However, the game was sooo much fun and the graphics were soooo amazing that I didn't care . Guys those of you that played this know what I'm talking about. Those of you that are waiting are going to love every second of this game. I saw 3 players that were unreal with characters I didn't think would be sooo damn dominant. Zangief is a beast no 1 El fuerte is awesome and RUFUS is another new guy that was unstoppable at this arcade. These kids are great. If anyone wants to challenge me on street fighter hd ps3 my screen name is whatyasay can't wait for this friggen game to come out
