Brandish remake headed for the PSP

Falcom is remaking old school action RPG Brandish for the PSP, according to Dengeki Online. The game made its original debut in Japan on the PC, but Americans will be most familiar with the Super Nintendo port released in 1995. The PSP remake is renamed Brandish: The Dark Revenant , and puts you in the shoes of a swordsman named Ares who ends up in a multi-level dungeon with a scantily-clad sorceress chasing after you.
This blogger actually owns the game on the SNES, but didn't finish it due to the awkward controls and steep learning curve -- hopefully this 3D remake will address those issues. The game will be released in Japan on March 19th -- Siliconera reports that Atlus isin talks currently working with Falcom, so we might actually see this in your neck of the woods.

Uh, they didn't say any such thing. They just said that Atlus is working with Falcom (for Ys 1&2 DS) so it's possible Atlus might pick it up.
Which isn't really true. Plus I'm not sure Atlus is working with Falcom, someone else licensed YS1 & 2 to do the DS remakes, and I think Atlus is working with them, not Falcom.

Yeah, you are right. Thanks.

Upon closer inspection, Atlus is owned by the same company that also owns the company (Interchannel) that did the YS DS ports. So Atlus probably isn't talking to Falcom at all...

The Brandish remake will be a great addition to the already stellar Playstation Portable entertainment system library which is currently stocked with AAA titles.Steven Colbert looks forward to this game thanks to the fine work of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan.

Interchannel did handle the DS ports in Japan, but that doesn't mean Atlus didn't have to talk to Falcom. Politics being what they are, I believe Atlus actually did/does talk to Falcom.
And it's spelled 'Atlus,' not 'Atlas' =)

More JRPGs on PSP is all I ask.
More JRPGs in general, really, but I quite like them in portable form, as I can play on the train and ignore the half-tards having loud conversations behind me.

More JRPGs I say too. Enough with the SRPGs.

I'm with you guys. Well few wrpgs would be nice too. But, it's still not clear if Brandish:TDR will ever be localized, right? I mean Falcom released Gurumin in English, which can mean that this game will be also localized, but Brandish seems to be more niche to me, dungeon crawlers are a pretty popular genre mainly in Japan.

Please who ever reads this be it Atlus or some one else bring this game out in the US. I have not played this game in years and it looks great. So you would get my money.

You know, I'd really like to see Brain Lord remade.
But who am I to make such silly requests?
