Shock! ESRB rates more PS1 downloadables

Maybe Sony hasn't completely given up on releasing PS1 games for download onto PS3/PSP. The sharp eyes of David B. discovered two new games added to the ESRB database: Rayman 2 and Medal of Honor. While we're pretty certain the latter hasn't aged too well, we're more than glad at a chance to play Rayman 2 again.

Of course, we have to remember -- just because the ESRB has rated a game doesn't mean it'll release any time soon.

This is quite the move people. Considering that my DS gets more use than my PSP is all the proof I need. With claims that PSP piracy is down (due to the fact that there are no new games week and week), and a strong PSP base with their new PSP 300 line.... I was hoping there would be a shift towards the download market.

The last PSP game I purchased was Star Ocean... and that was just out of nostalgia. With a strong PS3 network library from pixel junk, to SS2HD I am hoping that the PSP trends this way.

Nintendo is releasing classic games every week, were as Sony is dropping the ball with the amount of titles they could repackage. I wouldn't mind paying $10 to play a classic once again.... but I can't. Sony isn't releasing any games.

The math is quite simple.... release games, make money. My credit card is in my hand.

Medal of Honor was my favorite PS1 game.
Second is Spiderman, and third is The Grinch.

It's a shame though, that I still have the disk, and my Playstation 1. No need for PSN. ):

I'm just waiting on RE2...still...Medal of Honor would be a fun one too.

I'm not to sure if they released the games I'm about to mention on the PSN but i hope to see either LOD or Chrono Cross (but both will be hella better). either one of those two will make my constant gaming on the go a pleasant one!

Man it would be cool if games like metal gear solid, finally fantasy 7, or chrono cross came to psn that would be the bomb but sadly that will probably never happen.

I wish we can get MGS:1 over on the NA/EU Play station store. I already own MGS:1 thanks to the "Essentials" collection, but I wouldn't mind purchasing a digital copy for play on my PSP.

The only thing that would suck about buying Medal of Honor, if it is released, is that you cant play with a friend cause AD-Hoc doesn't exist for PS1 and I don't think Sony will give any enhancement treatment to the PS1 re-releases.

Post #1 says it all. I find it amazing that all of the other systems, even the Iphone and Blackberry, can release game after game after game after game whereas for the PSP, we're lucky if we get one download every other month.

And now comes the argument that its all shovelwear on the other systems - but at least its shovelwear that you can play :) Playing nothing isnt that fun.

But I digress, please Sony, bring on Chrono Cross, Intelligence Qube, Philosoma, and Croc!
