Dammit, I knew New would be one of the ones taken out! And I really wanted it. I'm guessing because it was originally on a movie soundtrack the rights were a little trickier.... Ass.

is anyone else getting sick of this crap? over and over this new music for GH or Rock band I mean seriously, the game its self is already pathetic as hell, if you can't play the damn instrument in the first place maybe you should get the picture that when your playing this your nothing but a pathetic talentless hack who's clinging to some sort of childish delusion that you may actually have talent.

i agree! it's just like when you play shooter games u are only pretending that u are a good gunsman, or fighting games pretending u are a good fighter, or racing games pretending u are a good racer, or strategy games pretending u are a good strategist, or action games pretend u are a good ... action guy ... what games DO you play anyway?
Johnny @ Dec 5th 2008 6:52PM
He plays the ones where you are NOT a complete asshat. because in real life he has got that nailed.

All I'm saying is a guitar is something you can ACTUALLY DO with no consequences. A real gunfight well, yea, id be slaughtered very quickly :P, few of us can actually afford fast cars (and even if you could its illegal to race on the streets), But honest to god a damn guitar, drum etc.. is something you can actually do with no negative consequences, you can easily find the finger charts on line or the drum notes etc.. on many websites. You can't say money is the case because if you bought a damn PS3 or any console for that matter you sure as hell can buy a decent instrument. Its just such a sad load of crap. I love music so I play French Horn. Have been for many years with an orchestra, Its absolutely worth to learn the damn instruments instead of being some pathetic child playing a game with a fake strumming key and 5 or six god damn buttons. How damn childish is that when a cheap guitar with all the chords is cheeper than the system and game.

You're just full of yourself, aren't you? If you've got the time and resources and talent to dedicate to playing an instrument proficiently, then everyone else must too, right?
Have you really forgotten how useless you were just starting to play an instrument? The weeks spent fumbling around chords and scales, waiting for your fingers to pick up the memory patterns you need. The dullness of repeating, over and over, a passage that wasn't crisp enough, a transition that wasn't smooth enough, a note that wasn't clean enough. You know why people have to be reminded that "practice makes perfect"? Because practicing is rarely, if ever, fun. It's work, and it takes dedication and commitment.
I've struggled my way through learning the piano (RC grade 8, stopped) clarinet (through high school, stopped) and I still like to play with my acoustic and electric guitars from time to time (mostly just screwing around with the settings on my amp to be honest). But Rock Band is simply _fun_. It's songs and vocals that I can't do as plain old me, staring at the fretboard and scared at the warble of my own lacklustre singing voice. It's instant gratification for all the Rush songs I wish I could play, but am years away from; it's the chance to belt out the lyrics to shameless pop songs whenever I feel like it.
It's sociable and enjoyable and there's nothing wrong with it. The only thing "childish" about the entire situation is that some people can't stand to hear about other people having fun.

Yeah, I too love music. I play Tenor Saxophone. But that doesn't mean that I don't play guitar hero/rock band. They are fun games, but they're not meant to teach you anything. They are meant to be games that can be enjoyed.
matahtak @ Dec 5th 2008 4:30PM
"New" would have been really cool to play... oh well. Still got Sunday Morning for drumming.
Dan Rabot @ Dec 8th 2008 10:54AM
Yeah you do talk shit buddy, I love music, I've been playing the REAL electric guitar for 15 years.
Can probably play most GH songs anyway, at least with a couple of hours and some internet to get them down.
But it's still fun rocking along with the game. Guitar hero is something i play with my non-guitarist mates, and girlfriend. It's just for fun, get it?
I put 15 years into playing guitar and I can't play some of the harder songs, but but can 99% them on GH!
It's the balance between trying and succeeding...
Real instrument = lots of trying for long term gain.
Games = little trying, easy to win, short term gain.
Although those out there who can 100% Dragonforce and shit like that really should pick up a real guitar!!!
