The latest issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu has just come out, and things are looking good for Square Enix's PSP-exclusive fighter,
Dissidia. While Famitsu is known for inflating some of its scores for anticipated games, we're hoping this initial good review is the sign of things to come.
Dissidia received a 36/40 -- a full point higher than Square Enix's other big
Final Fantasy game --
Crisis Core.
PSPHyper's translation of the issue suggests the story mode will take 40 hours to complete. To collect all the items, however, will take upwards of a hundred. It's going to take a lot of trips on the subway to get through the amazing amount of content
Dissidia seemingly promises.

Colour me hyped :D

Huh, will there be cut scenes that last for half hour generated by engine of the game or countless fights with some weaker enemies, the ones that can be found on world map in other FF games? Because I can't imagine how is it possible to put storyline that requires 40 hours to complete in a fighting game, when Crisis Core can be completed in 10-15... I'm more interested in Dissidia now o_o

Agreed. My first reaction was: "There's a story mode for this game? Hwa?"

If this game is even remotely similar to Ehrgeiz I'll freak out.

woot over 40 hours and just the story!? thats really something i wanted to hear!i think thats even longer than Crisis Core! it says over 100 hours to unlock everything, hope that includes bunch of stages(wich i heard there are 25 in a total) and secret characters,i wish there were like 10 or the unlockables but 4-5 is a good number.

Jacksons @ Dec 10th 2008 9:18PM
If it was from anyone but Famitsu, I'd be impressed. Still, that's intriguing!

40 hours is not actually that much considering there are 22 characters. About 1 and a half hours each and then an ending. They did say you have to beat it with every character to get the real ending. Plus it is an rpg so it has to be long. I will get it. It si like God of war chains of Olympus x 22. That games was short.
