Who doesn't want an overacted Prinny trailer?

Some cheese can be good. Especially on a cracker. However, the cheese offered by this Prinny trailer is of a different, slightly nuttier variety. The fine folks at NIS are bringing Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero over to the States, and they're bringing it in the usual over-the-top Disgaea style. Somehow, NIS is not only able to get away with terrible voice acting, but manages to turn it into an art. Check out the video, after the break.

Ugh.

I've never wanted to not buy a game as much as I do after watching 21 seconds of that trailer.

The first 21 seconds were actually the best.

I found it funny. Like the translator was really crap or something. I didn't have volume on though. Its not as bad with the volume on and the annoying ***** in the background talking was annoying.
Cheesy yet its so pathetic it was funny. I give it a 3.99998/5 for trying.

I concur. I need this game in my life.

And everyone complaining: PLAY DISGAEA. Ignorance isn't always bliss. You will be a better person once you do, and then this trailer will make you say "haha lolz dood" instead of "y does my ears bleedz?!!?!1?!!"

Oh my god. And I thought that changing Etna's voice from Hour of Darkness to Afternoon of Darkness was a slight downgrade.

I had better not have to hear that for more than like 10 minutes total for the entire game. That was absolutely horrid.

I don't really care for all this VO ranting, since all NIS games include original japanese voices as well. I'll probably switch them from the start. I SO wanna get this game!

that wasn't Etna talking. It was Asagi.

You know, the voices wasn't all that bad. I think it was Asagi's voice that annoys. I think it just adds to the weirdness and hilarity to the game.

And this is exactly why americans suck and dubbing anime... they are trying to make something only japs are capable of. Because of that terrible voice acting, I was wondering if I should play star ocean, or not DX

Star Ocean has subtitles, so if you got annoyed with the voices you could always mute the game.

Awww, Poor Asagi, she'll never get her own game.

As a side note, though I personally wish they would of choose a "cuter" tone for Asagi, I do believe her overacting tone is somewhat intentional.

The girl IS constantly bypassed as a main character after all. That may be part of the reason after all ^^;.

Sure can't wait for this game!*w* Disgaea kicks so much a$$ and I'm positive this spin-off will too. I'm so glad NIS always include "switch audio language" on every one of their titles, though. I'll die in the middle of game play listening to the English voice acting.X3 I'm mostly disappointed on how they use a girl voice on the Prinnies. It sooooo doesn't match!D=
