Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars gets update and price drop tomorrow

Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars is getting a little bit smaller tomorrow. And by that, we don't mean the name -- we mean the price. The PlayStation Network-exclusive title will drop to $9.99.

If the price drop isn't enticing enough, Psyonix is also adding a brand new arena to the game for absolutely free -- no need to buy DLC. Here's the full list of new features:

New "Cosmic" arena
Improved performance in network games
A server browser has been added during matchmaking
Players can now view leaderboards during matchmaking
News updates appear on the online page
Meters added to evaluate players' connection speed
Headsets can be plugged-in or swapped during gameplay

Oh man I love this freakin update. I love the game, it's one of my favorites definately. The problem is... Why did they release the patch NOW? Couple reasons...

1. Tons of great games everyone has a backlog
2. Busy Busy Busy holiday season.
3. So much competition every week.
4. (most importantly) they didn't add Home Launching? OMG NO!!!! This is is a game that could benefit SOOOO much from Home Game Launching. If only they delayed this for like 1 month and got that feature T_T

You don't add "Home Launching" to a game. Home chooses what games to support. Earlier in the betas it supported all games, though not all of them had the options from Home. Now it's just Warhawk, because Warhawk had those options. It's up to Sony Europe, not the SSARPBC developers.

Skywalker6705 you couldn't be more wrong dude. From the official team on the official battle cars forums:

"We all agree here, and it's something on the board for the next update. It just didn't make it for this one due to time constraints, and feature lock.

Do any other games support this feature, and if so, do they show the opening logos/videos, or are they somehow skipped"

So it is something that they update. Motorstorm is also allegedly supposed to work. Also if Sony chose which games would work then why doesn't Resistance 2 work ASAP? Why doesn't Socom games work? Or even Little Big Planet? BECAUSE THE GAMES HAVE TO BE SET UP IN ORDER TO WORK PROPERLY!

The games that don't support it that launch, they don't launch properly as a game launch game launches. There's a difference between just starting it up in Home, and hoping directly into a match with 10 people.

This game isn't available in europe yet, but hopefully it will be soon enough.Is it possible to play Split-Screen and Online at the same time?

Nice, I was sorta hesitant about this game because of the average reviews and the price, even though it has trophies. I was going to get it sooner or later but now that it's $10, I'll probably get it sooner rather than later.

I asked the same question on the VGEvo forums. I got a response from one of the Psyonix devs. It'll be coming out in January as they will also be including the expansion pack into the EU game straight off.

Will the European gamers ever shut up? Almost every time some news is posted, there is a European gamer bitching that it's not out in Europe yet. The best is when I see Europeans bitching on the U.S. Playstation blog. Have you guys realized yet that SCEA and SCEE are essentially two separate companies?

Now I do understand why you're bothered with us coming over to a US only site. But on this site I don't see what's wrong saying that the game seems pretty good - cause we wouldn't be complaining if we weren't interested in the game.

Agree with the Steet fighter comment SCEE better get security on stand by if that doesn't come out today.

Hey guys -

Sorry about Europe! We hit a bunch of snag with rating boards, localization issues, and other problems, but we're shooting for January unless something crazy happens!

We're really sorry about the delay on it, we were hoping to get it out a long time ago, but we're a small dev and these things can take time when you don't have a ton of money or a big publisher behind you. We'll let you know as soon as we have a more concrete date but we're doing everything in our power to get it out in Europe ASAP - unfortunately, a lot of it's out of our control.
