Confirmed: Cross Edge coming in March 09

Speaking to RPGamer, an NIS America representative confirmed the rumors that the ensemble RPG Cross Edge will be headed for the US. That's great news for traditional JRPG fans everywhere -- the Compile Heart title features characters from the companies Capcom, Namco-Bandai, Gust, Idea Factory and Nippon Ichi. Mark your calendar, kids -- the game will be released in March 2009. To learn more, check out our coverage of the PS3 exclusive here.

i played the demo on the japan store...this game isnt that good. It looks and plays like a SNES game. Also all the characters are to cute. Even the ones from darkstalker. They took out the dark. But i think this game will fill out every jrpg gamers out there just like harem manga.

Those sprites are probably about as many pixels as an SNES could put on one screen.

on a side note, is this game required to have trophies upon release? I seem to remember a new Sony rule that enforces mandatory trophy support for all games released after Jan 09. Since this game was already released in Japan for some time, does the rule applies here?

I don't think it will be much trouble to add trophies though, because I would think that they would have to add them.

The new trophy rules means all new games developed in 2009 must include trophies. Some of the early 2009 releases may still not have trophies.

I would actually assume so. The rule isn't that it's games developed after January 1st, it's submitted for approval after January 1st, so unless they submit it to SCEA in the next two weeks, I would think they would have to add trophies to the U.S. release.

i remember clamoring for this thing to be localized.
(partly due to the drought of PS3 games).
then i realized how broke i'm going to be...
darn...
i've left my RPG love for the fighting game genre.
and i dun see myself coming back.

I never would have imagined that something like this could ever happen. So damn cool. Maybe this gives hope that Tatsunoko vs Capcom will be release in America.
