English Demon's Souls hits PS3 February 2009
The Japanese version of Demon's Souls is scheduled for release in early February of next year, but it looks it won't be the only one making it out that month. Siliconera suggests that the Asian version will also ship in February and most interestingly will be entirely in English. The site recently went hands-on with a new build at the Asia Game Show in Hong Kong and have discovered that the demo was, in fact, completely in English.
Now, it is possible that the final release in Asia may not be in that language; however, that is really moot. It's most important to note that there is some form of English language version and it is currently in the works. At the moment, there haven't been any mention from either SCEA or SCEE in regards to North American and European releases for Demon's Souls.

i guess something to do with many demons and the souls they have....... lol
anyways it is a RPG and monsters similar to Shadow of the Colossus in the sense that they are huge

Looks like a better-looking third-person version of Oblivion. If they'll add some samurai armor and some katana variations, I'll go so far as to bite for the Englified import variant.

Wouldn't proper grammar be "Demons' Souls"?
sean @ Dec 20th 2008 5:57PM
no i think the ' only goes after the s when the word ends with s. and demon ends with n.
Alphathon @ Dec 20th 2008 5:58PM
Unless it meens many souls possessed by one demon (like it's a demon stealing souls), but that wouldn't really make for a very good title with that implication, so you're probably right :p

One dog has one bone: The dog's bone.
One dog has many bones: The dog's bones.
Many dogs have one bone: The dogs' bone.
Many dogs have many bones: The dogs' bones.
How many demons have how many souls?
Arnon @ Dec 20th 2008 5:58PM
Eh.. I didn't hear anything good about it in Japan. Not getting my hopes up for it really.
Alphathon @ Dec 20th 2008 6:00PM
@ sean it goes fater if it is belonging to a plural, like two demons have souls would be demons' souls, but one demon having multiple souls would be demon's souls
Alphathon @ Dec 20th 2008 6:01PM
*after (can't go having bad spelling if I'm talking about grammar can I, even if it was just a typo)
Aysir @ Dec 20th 2008 6:09PM
It really should just be Demon Souls...unless it is what Alphathon guessed - one Demon who owns a lot of souls; then it's Demon's Souls. But it should never really be Demons' Souls.

Does anyone know if this game is strictly from a 3rd person viewpoint, or will it have a 1st person viewpoint (similar to the King's Field games and The Elder Scrolls games) as well?
jahd5000 @ Dec 20th 2008 7:29PM
well i read an article that they were making this game a lot like Kings Field but changed that to 3rd person to improve the game in that sense or soemthing, not sure..
Anywyas, being in sequel-but-not-really to kings field i guess they might include it and make it optional. But not offical word about it.
I think for better, enaugh 1st view with FPS which are lika 69% of the total games. Come on 3rd person is waaaay better.
j.howlett @ Dec 20th 2008 9:02PM
i think this is that game where you have to be careful where you swing your weapon because it bangs into the walls. i think it was shown at tgs but not alot of people around here got excited about it. i want just because it's a third person action rpg
Hyams @ Dec 20th 2008 10:29PM
Have you seen the gameplay videos of it, though? It looks downright awful.
