Welcome to the second annual PS Fanboy year-end awards. We've changed the format a bit this year: this time you can vote in every single category. Yep! Reader's Choice is back, and better than ever. We're also spending a little less time on the awards this year, so as not to clutter the front page too much. (See? We listen to your feedback!) All the nominees will be presented over the week. Make sure you tune in every day and vote for your favorites!
Winners will be declared on December 29th.
Stay tuned! More categories will be revealed tomorrow!

i think you need to explain a little better to people to click on the nominee you want to vote for and leave a comment in the comments section for that nominee and not under the ballot pic which explains how to vote.
Game_playa @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:40PM
Burnout Paradise FTW. It was and is the best racing game I've played in a long time
Kevin @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:45PM
why don't you have the worst category. When a developer just makes a terrible attempt at a game. I vote /6 for there installment of Socom.
SourceJR @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:47PM
Haze is an auto win for the worst category
Andrew Yoon @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:14PM
Most Disappointing category, coming tomorrow.
Jake @ Dec 23rd 2008 2:35PM
i was going to post this
dam you :P
maxpontiac @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:45PM
Glad to see readers choice is here. However, the choices are extremely limited.
kavorka @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:29PM
Agreed. SEVERELY LACKING in choices.
Andrew Yoon @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:32PM
We went with less choices than more, because we really think these are the top choices in each category. No point in nominating everything--especially games that don't deserve the nom.
maxpontiac @ Dec 23rd 2008 2:40PM
Andrew -
I suppose I should have been more specific in my comments..
The "Best racing game" award.
Where is Midnight Club LA?
Where is Ferrari Challenge?
Both of these titles brought something to table.
And while I agree that some titles do not even have enough for nomination, I still would have liked to seen more choices.
anthonyjh @ Dec 23rd 2008 4:04PM
Totally agree Max. I would have voted for MNC.
kavorka @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:51PM
No Fallout 3 nominations?? I'm boycotting.
DeathroW @ Dec 23rd 2008 12:58PM
With the seemingly lack of effort they put into the PS3 version, i'm not surprised.
Anyway,
Best graphics: MGS4 - Why? Because everything else in there for the most part is so generic, i love both wipEout HD and GT5P but MGS4 seems like alot more effort went into it.
Andrew Yoon @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:15PM
Well, Fallout 3 isn't a racing game. Nor does it have DLC on PS3. Wait and see if it makes Best RPG?
Flame @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:16PM
Because MGS4 has the best graphics to date? It may be repeated all the time but its true.
bambino @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:15PM
WTF? No uncharted mention for best graphics? EPIC FAIL!!!
wem003 @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:20PM
Uncharted came out the year before.... FAIL 4 U.
Flame @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:18PM
This is '08 dude...
bambino @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:20PM
lol.. I only just finished last night.. sowwy :*(
..my bad
Amazing Graphics for a near launch game!!
Andrew Yoon @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:31PM
LOL. Uncharted is good. So good it won last year's award for Best Graphics.
komrad @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:28PM
fallout 3 is my goty. thanks.
BadFlounder @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:32PM
Fallout 3 is great.....I just started it up finally.
PSN: Wild_Pegasus @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:38PM
What no Call of Duty for multiplayer?
BLASPHEMY! Ima going to go call the dogs!
Sure it hasn't improved much but its still awesome
slycooper_rocker [anti-panda death murder squadron force five] @ Dec 23rd 2008 2:27PM
i agree. the people who haven't even tried it called it a copy of cod4. it had a lot of improvements. like bodies ripping apart when blown up or shot by a heavy mg. it's little details like that that make it far more than cod4's multiplayer. after playing cod:waw for a couple of weeks, then going back to compare it to cod4, i can honestly say its a completely different beast.
anthonyjh @ Dec 23rd 2008 4:06PM
You're right. So few improvements and so much detraction. CoD4's multiplayer was much better.
slycooper_rocker [patapon defence force] @ Dec 27th 2008 1:30AM
how am i right if you blatantly disagree?
Evan @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:46PM
How can LittleBigPlanet and Valkyrie Chronicles not nominated for best graphics?
If the criteria is realism, LittleBigPlanet looks very much like real cardboard and felt. There's no way you could show MGS4 to a person and convince them it was filmed with real cameras and real actors, but LittleBigPlanet is realistic enough that I think you could convince someone that it was filmed with real cameras and real puppets.
If the criteria is style, Valkyrie Chronicles takes the cake.
Flame @ Dec 23rd 2008 1:54PM
MGS4 textures are the best to date. MGS4 deserves Best Graphics because it looks the best. LBP is only defining a puppet and the textures really weren't ment to be mind blowing. PoP IMO did a better cell shading then VC.
Little Big PSN ID: johnnynumber5 @ Dec 23rd 2008 4:27PM
I agree with Evan (for the first time ever) that Little Big Planet and Valkyria Chronicles deserve at least a nomination. MGS 4 also has wonderful graphics but LBP & VC at least deserved to be selections. Dead Space for best graphics? Are you kidding me?
optimusprime @ Dec 23rd 2008 2:23PM
Prince of Persia should be nominated for Best Graphics. Although that game isn't the most fun to play, it is drop dead gorgeous.
AC @ Dec 24th 2008 1:34PM
where Grid in best racer ?
Tim Parsons @ Dec 23rd 2008 2:46PM
Sweet gotta agree with all the Wins. Especially MGS4, Deadspace and Burnout. Monsters is good but I just wasn't interested enough to buy it, and I lost interest in fighting games in the late SNES era
Fane @ Dec 23rd 2008 7:08PM
Tim,
I don't think they're listed in order of finish; they're nominees for a vote, probably in alphabetical order (I guess I could check, but too lazy).
Little Big PSN ID: johnnynumber5 @ Dec 23rd 2008 4:25PM
How the hell do you even vote? Do you leave a comment under the picture for the game you want to win or do you leave a comment in the ballot section?
Can you write in a vote not listed?
How the hell does Little Big Planet & Valkyria Chronicles not get a nomination for best graphics?
Thanks ...
SourceJR @ Dec 23rd 2008 5:01PM
You leave a comment under the pic of the game you want to vote for. i don't know if there will be write ins but people seem to be doing them under the ballot pic.
Andrew Yoon @ Dec 23rd 2008 5:26PM
Vote under each picture. However, feel free to submit choices that weren't nominated.
Little Big PSN ID: johnnynumber5 @ Dec 24th 2008 12:45AM
Thank you Andrew and SourceJR ... I know it sounded like a dumb question but it was a little confusing. Not trying to be critical over the selections either. I think everyone with a PS3 would agree that this year has been an amazing year for games.
ICON[o]clast @ Dec 23rd 2008 5:19PM
Most Disappointing nominees... Turok and Star Wars: Force Unleashed. :(
Fane @ Dec 23rd 2008 7:10PM
Can anyone get to the second page of the comments under each picture?
Andrew, you might want to check the webcode.
mr_bambino_dent @ Dec 23rd 2008 8:49PM
Yeah there's a problem right now in the whole voting process . .
I voted for about 4 awards but my comments didn't appear although being confirmed by email
added to the second page that doesn't open.
spikeylee @ Dec 24th 2008 2:31PM
i thought it was just me!
but yeah, it won't show me any of the subsequent pages in the gallery comments so i can't even tell if my comments/votes are getting posted to them.
Daniel @ Dec 24th 2008 12:56AM
Wow. There are some really crap games in the list.
Hyperfludd @ Dec 24th 2008 6:13PM
