New PAIN downloaders experiencing not-so-amusing glitch

There are many people that are new to PAIN and its various expansion packs. The "Abusement Park" add-on is corrupted for anyone that downloads it right now. Many are blaming the recent 2.53 patch, which adds a free character and YouTube support to the game. "If you did not have the Abusement park addon downloaded from PSN prior to the update the level is destroyed and unusable, Items fall through the landscape the background image is blank white and the level is unusable."

Direct-feed video of the glitch shows how the game is rendered unplayable ... because nothing gets rendered! Unfortunately, this glitch doesn't appear to be affecting a small group of people. A quick look at this thread shows a lynch mob asking for Idol Minds' head. Once again, this being the holiday season, it seems unlikely that affected individuals will get a patch in the immediate future.

I can't believe you missed the opportunity to call this a PAINful experience. Or you could have made the observation that the Abusement Park was a suitable name for the experience. Wow, now that I think about it, that would have blown my mind.

So many missed opportunities! It's okay. There's always next time.

I love playing PAIN. It is a great distraction for those times when you don't want to sink more than 10-15 minutes into something. You know, those times when the wife is getting ready, or the kids are in the bath....

I am pretty sure I have the 2.53 patch, but I don't recall seeing any new free characters.... I know they have the new Sumo King (or whatever his name is) now, that I purchased, but I don't remember seeing any other new characters.....

Maybe I'm blind because of the new character layout and all (which came with the /last/ update, right?)....

I say "free" because you need to buy Movie Studio to get him.

Another big glitch in a game found around the holidays (the LBP one as well).

Do people actively put effort in finding / reporting these issues at the least convenient time of the year, or what?

Everyone's at home on vacation and there's nothing to do but play games. That's probably why Pain, Home and LBP probably had all these bugs discovered recently.

LOL ..... see if they had waited maybe there wouldn't been so many RRoD's, this is really sad using somebody else tech ...... guest 360 fanboys got a piece of the PS3 should of waited for the full thing! All jokes aside is this really a big surprise they all borrow ideas from the other!
