Weekly Shonen anniversary ensemble fighter announced

A crossover fighting game featuring characters from rival manga magazines' Weekly Shonen Sunday and Weekly Shonen Magazine has been announced for the PSP. Apparently, this is all part of their 50th anniversary celebrations -- both publications made their simultaneous debuts on the same day back in 1959. No gameplay details have been announced except special moves can be executed with a single button and that the title will be developed by Konami. No release date has been set. A list of IPs that will be make an appearance for the brawler, after the jump.

Hmm, some biggies missing. How about Naruto or Bleach? Full Metal Alchemist likely wouldn't be in there because of the difference in fighting it would likely create. Still, they missed several of my favorites. I hope this list gets MUCH longer...

Actually Bleach and Naruto are from Shonen Jump so they won't appear in this. Also, FMA is from Shonen Gangan so that won't appear either. Sorry.

I hope it gets longer, but misses out the ones you mentioned! They're in enough fighting games already.

@ Danton -- Yeah, guess I really didn't read that too well. I don't really read much of the manga, so I forget where the source is.

@ Troll -- Bleach hasn't been in a PSP game yet that came out of Asia and got localized. I'd love to hear about Soul Carnival or HTS coming state side...Hey Sony damn it !

same problem as the other fellow, Rurōni Kenshin was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump, if Shōnen Jump were included this would be even more kick butt! or even some of the others like Gangan or Young King Ours... still looks fun :)

Also this should be the biggest hint at Fairy Tail's anime.

Me neither.

I understand that there are several Shonen's but the only one from weekly most people recognize is Inuyasha.

Oh man I wish a Jump game made it to the PSP.

This sounds just like jump super stars & jump ultimate stars, but those games had access to much better mangas.

Much more popular you mean. If you're looking at popularity, all this game can really compare with is Inuyasha.
I'd say this is like Weekly Shounen's counter to Jump, especially how it's on the PSP instead of the DS.

That's Natsu from Fairy Tail. There isn't an anime for it yet, but it's a fantastic manga.

I know the Mangaka is the same as Air Gears so I have hope.

Inuyasha is good, but the lack of anything else that sounds good to me is..bad. And the low chance of localization, of coarse.

I hope most of the main characters from Cromartie High School fight in the game. I hope Freddy and the Gorilla are in there too. And maybe even Pooh-Tan.

Cromartie High School is a comic about High School Gangsters who don't do anything gangstery.
It's kind of "a show about nothing". And yeah, I mean that.
