Europe to receive Killzone 2 demo ... no strings attached
SCEA's deal with GameStop doesn't affect those living outside of the US. European gamers will be able to access a pre-release Killzone 2 demo on the PlayStation Store, no strings attached. SCEE didn't provide any specific dates, but told Videogamer.com that the demo will be released in a "normal manner."

Bring it on!!!!!111one!
TinyTim121 @ Jan 6th 2009 9:23AM
Well done SCEE!
Now all we have to do is hope its released before the Killzone 2 release.
*Crosses fingers*
C-Onor @ Jan 6th 2009 1:25PM
it says in th article that its a pre-release demo
TinyTim121 @ Jan 6th 2009 3:50PM
Yeah cheers C-Onor
Dunno why i miss-read it, but i did and for some reason assumed we had no idea if the demo would be released before or after the KZ2 release date.
KarlW @ Jan 6th 2009 9:27PM
This is SCEE, so don't count on it.
wicko @ Jan 6th 2009 9:24AM
Good thing I kept my euro account!
Griever92 @ Jan 9th 2009 8:51AM
Haha, yeah, I can't wait to download this when it's out.
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 6th 2009 9:30AM
guess its about time I start an EU account......
Gaucho @ Jan 6th 2009 9:33AM
Good. now I won't have to buy the game from Gamestop. I don't know what Gamestops are like in the rest of the U.S., but here in NYC they make McDonald's seem classy.
Eric E @ Jan 6th 2009 9:59AM
they are worse then Used cars salesman but not as bad as best buy.
However When buying Wii Fit i did have to decline a yoga mat, board condom purchase, Warranty, battery pack, Wii Cheerleading pre-order, etc.
Assuming EU has the same/similar release date, GS got screwed on that deal and i hope they payed a lot of money.
magicfett @ Jan 6th 2009 9:43AM
@tinytim
Well, it does say "pre release" so I guess we can assume they mean before they release it.
Can't wait to download this bring it on, sorry gamestop you lose to amazon.
TinyTim121 @ Jan 6th 2009 12:39PM
Oh yeah it does.
Well i feel stupid lol
Cheers magicfett; i can uncross my fingers now XD
nakedatthecomp @ Jan 6th 2009 9:42AM
so...wtf is happening with Canada?!
10VD @ Jan 6th 2009 11:59AM
We should fall under the same boat as the US and have the demo available from Gamestop/EB Games.
OR
We'll be screwed over like most other things like the video store, PSN cards......
XGM @ Jan 6th 2009 12:06PM
Make a Euro account like I did, and download it then.
Hife @ Jan 6th 2009 12:13PM
Sadly, I think Sony's official position is to ignore its existence.
elkniwcire @ Jan 6th 2009 9:43AM
Getting an EU account has been one of the best things I've done for my PS3. Wipeout demo, Killzone demo, and plus sometimes EU gets certain demos a couple weeks early, like Valkrie Chronicless
shane86 @ Jan 6th 2009 9:47AM
Hurray!
Tim Parsons @ Jan 6th 2009 9:48AM
fine by Me I got an Account for each region anyway
HAAS599 @ Jan 6th 2009 10:13AM
I'm glad I can get it off EU store, but the demo should have been available to US Qore subscribers too.
Dan Rabot @ Jan 6th 2009 10:15AM
Whoooo! Europe get's some preferential treatment for once!
I cannot wait for this demo.
Fingers crossed for Thursday!
Anything new coming to home? It's gotta be about time for an update, perhaps some game spaces?
KarlW @ Jan 6th 2009 9:29PM
Don't get too happy. SCEE isn't doing this because they want to make up for the years of hurt. This is the lack of an exclusive deal, not SCEE refusing one because they wanted us to have it.
willxcore @ Jan 6th 2009 10:26AM
God damn America and Big Business and Gamestop making everything so fucking stupid. I have a EU account so thankfully I can play the demo and buy the game from Amazon or wherever I want without having to support Gamestop. They're really ruining the gaming industry. Sony needs strong first week (and day) sales for their titles and KZ2 should prove to be a heavy hitter, they need to give people an incentive to buy the game, not wait until after it's released and lose those first week sales from the people who were on the fence.
PS. I knew I should have copied this before I submitted it, never got the fucking e-mail to confirm. I hate this comment system.
Mike @ Jan 6th 2009 10:42AM
But... EU will probably get the demo after the game is out in America anyway. It doesn't say we'll get the demo before the American release date.
I would assume it's released on the 27th in the US, demo in Europe the next week and released here the week after or something like that.
androctonvs @ Jan 6th 2009 12:04PM
wow, this should be the first time ever that the europeans have some sort of advantage of the rest of the world, SCE related...
reakt @ Jan 6th 2009 12:07PM
The "normal manner" that were accustomed to in Europe is 1 month after the release of the full game!
Friend @ Jan 6th 2009 12:21PM
Ha, no kidding. And that's if we're lucky!
Emyrs @ Jan 6th 2009 7:00PM
actually according to VGChartz EU gets killzone on the 25th, two days before the US.
me @ Jan 6th 2009 12:59PM
It's a european game (made in holland) so not a big surprise it's on EU-PSN
me_not_you @ Jan 6th 2009 4:33PM
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no need to pre-order now!!
Game_playa @ Jan 6th 2009 3:14PM
YAY! Too bad I don't have a PS3 anymore,....
usagi704 @ Jan 6th 2009 5:14PM
I have PSN accounts in four different regions, including the UK. Screw you Gamestop!
stargateheaven @ Jan 6th 2009 8:31PM
So the whole pre order demo thing is pointless because every american under the sun is gonna get the one from the EU store.
tellos @ Jan 7th 2009 6:23AM
Yesss you guys made my day!!!!!
