CES 2009: PlayStation Home to receive EA SPORTS Complex
Sony and Electronic Arts have just announced a partnership to provide the EA SPORTS Complex within PS3's PlayStation Home community. In this exclusive game space, gamers will be able to play new EA SPORTS multiplayer games, view leaderboards and interact with other fans while watching trailers and content from EA SPORTS games.
"We're proud to support the PlayStation Home Beta with a very robust offering from EA SPORTS," said Peter Moore, president of EA SPORTS. "As part of our continued commitment to the connected experience and the digitization of our business, the EA SPORTS Complex is a rich new online environment that presents a compelling and immersive social gaming experience for the global sports audience."
EA also announced plans to introduce other EA brands to PlayStation Home in the future. This announcement, in conjunction with today's Red Bull space, shows that Home is rapidly becoming a much more engaging experience than what it was at launch.
Update: Video trailer, after the break.

Mo @ Jan 8th 2009 4:14PM
C-onor
YOU
are disappointing
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 1:20PM
this sounds dissapointing
morningdrive @ Jan 8th 2009 1:26PM
Why does it sound dissapointing? Because Sony is adding other game publishers to Home to make it bigger and better? Would you prefer Home just stay with the same 4 Rooms we have been able to visit? I for one am glad that they are finally making Home bigger.
I am not a big EA sports fan but still this is a big plus for those who play Madden and other EA Sports titles.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 1:29PM
NO, im saying it seems dissapointing because i think it looks shit, and i have no interest in football, or most other sports. thats why it dissapointing to me.
morningdrive @ Jan 8th 2009 1:33PM
Well then you should state that in your first post. It's not for everyone as I stated myself I am not a big sports fan but still it's nice to hear that they are doing something with Home instead of nothing.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 1:38PM
and dont tell me what i should have stated and where
Devin @ Jan 8th 2009 2:02PM
@C-Onor
How about you add the like "to me because I don't like sports" or else you make it sound "disappointing" in general which it is Not.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 2:14PM
@Devin
honestly, i dont care what you think
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 2:29PM
and, anyway, Devin, i think it was quite obvious that i didnt even have to add the 'to me', because i would never assume that i was talking on everyones behalf.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 2:48PM
you dont have the right to say that nobody cares what i think. all i was doing was giving my opinion on the matter, which after all is the reason for being able to post comments on this, isnt it?
PrinceAshitaka @ Jan 8th 2009 3:03PM
You said the following to Devin:
'honestly, i dont care what you think'.
Now, since you're acting like a douche and since ALL of your comments are being rated down, I concluded that actually it's the other way round:
'NOBODY cares what you think'. I stated it in the hopes that you would understand it, but apparently not. Perhaps this second time you'll get what I'm saying and gtfo of here.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 3:27PM
the people who rate me down are not EVERYONE, and i state THIS in the hope that YOU will understand this. just because some people say certain things, does not mean that they will have universal agreement.
PrinceAshitaka @ Jan 8th 2009 3:54PM
O'RLY? Like I didn't know that.
The words 'always', 'never', 'everybody' and 'nobody' never truly apply to something (again, they may apply sometimes, 'never' is such a strong word) but obviously they exist for a reason.
When I wrote the word 'Nobody' I didn't mean it to be taken literally, it was an hyperbole (google it if you don't know what I'm talking about). When I wrote it, I wrote it as if I was saying:
'MOST people don't care what you think, and since your comments are being rated down like I've never seen it before, it's best if you go troll somewhere else.'
But again you didn't get it. Let's see if you get it this third time.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 10:27PM
im not a retard. and you'll probably just contradict that, but im not. so dont treat me like one. you may contradict that you dont, but in case you do, then dont forget that you already called me one. you're pathetic. do you just love arguing? you just joined in when there was no need to. and its not obvious to everyone when you are using a hyperbole. you could just be obnoxious and ignorant. maybe i should be like you and suggest that you write [/hyperbole] every time you use one?
PSN: John-Paul-Jones @ Jan 8th 2009 5:28PM
@ C-Onor
DAMN! I've been looking at four pages of people laying waste to you, bro, and you're getting punked hard.
Fane @ Jan 12th 2009 12:10PM
@C-Onor
...well, you don't seem to know how to capitalize or use proper punctuation, which doesn't really support your contention that you're not a retard.
Fane @ Jan 12th 2009 12:10PM
@ C-Onor
...well, you don't seem to know how to capitalize or punctuate properly, which doesn't really help your contention that you aren't a retard.
Also, it's just hyperbole, not A hyperbole.
C-Onor @ Jan 12th 2009 12:28PM
@ Fane
well, punctuation and grammar etc. arent the most importent things in the world, and you must have a pretty pathetic life if you just sit there searching for punctuation and capitalization mistakes.
Charles @ Jan 8th 2009 1:32PM
I'm glad to see that home is expanding and that they'll have FIFA and fight night rooms.
Hife @ Jan 8th 2009 1:32PM
Man, that's a helluva space. Sports games aren't my thing at all, but that certainly gives me hope for other future spaces.
mikey @ Jan 8th 2009 1:34PM
"We're proud to support the PlayStation Home Beta with a very robust offering from EA SPORTS," said Peter Moore
i bet that fool never thought he'd be saying that huh? hahahahahah OWNED!
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 8th 2009 1:34PM
nice......
now if Madden 2010, March Madness, Live 2010 and others have Home Support then that will be even better!!!!
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 8th 2009 2:02PM
damn March Madness is 2k......I shoulda said NCAA Baskaetball
Ves @ Jan 8th 2009 1:35PM
Now we just have to hope they start implement Game Launching.
*Hopes its'not only for SCEA region*
Zoibie @ Jan 8th 2009 1:45PM
*but knows that deep down it will be*
Mo @ Jan 8th 2009 4:09PM
Ves! Yes! All I want is game launching!
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 1:41PM
i'd appreciate that you wouldnt come up with all these assumptions so quickly, your first question would have sufficed, so you wouldnt be unnecessarily rude. its fine for other people if they will enjoy it, i just personally find it dissapointing.
Dan @ Jan 10th 2009 7:55AM
the racing game looks like a good addition Hopefully i will not have to wait in huge lines to be able to play
Brambler @ Jan 8th 2009 1:42PM
that looks freaking awesome!
Barry32171 @ Jan 8th 2009 1:46PM
C-Onor, relax. No need for multiple postings, we get it that your "disappointed", though disappointed in what I'm not sure, given that if you don't care for sports, then this shouldn't have even interested you to post in the first place.
Be that as it may, this looks great for us sports fans, and yes I'm also hoping we can game launch from inside Home. Anything that adds content to Home, I'm all for, and especially if its something I'm interested in.
PSN: John-Paul-Jones @ Jan 8th 2009 2:06PM
Sports fans, unite! I just hope EA doesn't forget about the most important thing - real-time scoreboards. It would be a mistake to create a Sports Complex and not include it. I'll see you all there, trash talking your teams :)
Fane @ Jan 10th 2009 6:14PM
Actually, he's "dissapointed", whatever that means; can something be"sapointed"?
Louis @ Jan 8th 2009 1:47PM
Yea man, it does look f'in great.... did everyone check out the video...You could even play poker!!!
GGCAN @ Jan 8th 2009 2:09PM
I'm not into sports a whole lot either C-Onor, but poker to me isn't sports related.
When I was in Closed Beta, I had made a suggestion that a Vegas style space be opened with Poker, card games etc and this to me looks really close.
I think this is a great idea...the space looks amazing and we need more spaces like this to come in the future.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 2:22PM
i wasnt talking specifically about the pool, just about the whole thing in general
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 2:23PM
sorry, poker
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 2:27PM
will everyone please stop jumping down my throat just because i said i found it dissapointing - TO MYSELF! i never said i was talking on everyones behalf
bigred @ Jan 8th 2009 2:30PM
Uhm, yeah I'm dissapointed too. I mean, wtf is EA Sports doing making a sports-related HomeSpace? Makes no sense to me.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 2:39PM
thank you, someone who agrees. and im not trying to just be spiteful towards sony. and i just dont think that light shines from Homes every orifice
PrinceAshitaka @ Jan 8th 2009 2:46PM
Lol? Are you dumb? EA SPORTS (notice the word) doing a SPORTS-related (notice the word again, it's the same word!, who would have guessed?) HomeSpace doesn't make any sense?
What else doesn't make any sense to you? Making omelettes out of eggs?
bigred @ Jan 8th 2009 3:12PM
Hmm... I guess my sarcasm wasn't as obvious as I thought.
PrinceAshitaka @ Jan 8th 2009 3:23PM
LOL! Sorry bigred!
[/sarcasm] at the end of your post would have helped. Even C-Onor fell for it xD
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 3:44PM
@PrinceAshitaka
wow...its wonderful that it makes you so happy trying to put other people down with nasty comments...
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 3:35PM
well, putting [/sarcasm] at the end of a sentence kind of ruins the point of the sarcasm
PrinceAshitaka @ Jan 8th 2009 3:52PM
You didn't even get the sarcam so what you're saying doesn't make any sense.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 3:56PM
well, its not THAT hard to understand. you see, when you use sarcasm, you're generally not supposed to tell people that you're being sarcastic, because you usually pretend to agree with the thing that the person is saying, but also giving off a strong air that you are lying - being sarcastic. got it?
PrinceAshitaka @ Jan 8th 2009 4:25PM
C-Onor, you really are as dumb as you look.
You said, and I'll quote, that sarcasm 'is not that hard to understand'. Then why the hell did you say 'thank you, someone who agrees' to Bigred when he was being sarcastic?
He was disagreeing with you, and you thanked him. Your utter stupidity continues to amaze me.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 4:30PM
wow...you're starting to worry me here...how could you possibly have any idea as to how i look? you're completely and utterly pathetic.
C-Onor @ Jan 8th 2009 4:35PM
you see, sometimes people get the sarcasm, and sometimes they dont. forgot to mention that bit. it depends on how heavily people lay on the sarcasm.
