SOCOM 1.30 patch brings Trophies and more tomorrow

SOCOM: Confrontation's highly-anticipated 1.30 update, which has been met with delay after delay, will finally be released on January 9th, at 5AM EST/2AM PST. Hey, that's in a couple of hours! The patch brings with it Trophies (a list of them can be viewed here), D-pad lean-in, a Quick Match/Party system, as well as key bug fixes and new features.

The update will take an hour or two to happen, so the game will be down until approximately 7AM EST/4AM PST. And ouch -- this patch will also wipe out all player statistics.

It's been a long time coming, Slant Six! Let's hope everything goes smoothly.

I think we should be more worried about completing the trophies and getting that platinum than worrying if the patch releases tomorrow. I'll have to get some target practice in before the release. :)

so Glad I didnt buy this..........I'd be pretty pissed if I was had a few hundred thousand Kills over the past few months.......

i dunno.. i got the headset combo.. so really for 10bucks extra i got a game... its worth 10$.. not much more then that until after the patch.. but it can be a lot of fun..

I probably wont get many of the trophies, im just not that committed to the game.. and like others have said, KZ2 is out soon...

No it's not; there are a ton of stat-padding friendly glitches that this update will wipe out. It's happened in past SOCOM games, anybody with half a brain saw this coming and planned accordingly (I didn't play in ranked rooms, for example; just played custom games with the clan).

ha ha we think alike. i stopped playing around a month ago too but because of the no retroactive trophies. didn't know it would erase player stats though. double points for me.

SOCOM's gameplay revolves around patience, not run-n-gun, so it makes sense that the impatient would 'move on' quickly. You will be missed.

And here is why this game annoys the crap out of me. I tried to be the patient one. Trying to cover all the angles and move/cover other players. You know what happens? Some guy runs up to me and kills me while zig-zagging back and forth.

All they've got to do is release this in the UK now.

I play a lot of COD but only because it's the best of a bad bunch (did not rate R2 - sucks bigtime) - Socom would certainly give me a solid, realistic shooter to put some hours into.

Xbox is full of generic shooters but I feel until Socom (and KZ2) is released we do lack gritty realistic shooters on our console. As I say, pretty limited to COD, which is a bit meh.

Socom and KZ can change that up.

NETWORK INITIALIZATION FAILED....WTF!! all my stats are gone...understood...but now I can't even play the frickin game....I hate to say this....but I never have online issues on my 360...free online is looking worse and more worse.

I forgot I was on fanBOYz, and being critical of the PS3 (which I own 2)is forbidden(I own 2 360's) as well...and just maybe by being critical I want Sony to know where they can improve.....We can't sugarcoat everything fanboys.....just because you guys have settled for mediocre SONY service doesn't mean I have(:
