Trivial Pursuit hitting PS3 in March ... for $40

Trivial Pursuit also sounds like a great PlayStation Network game. The problem is? It's not. EA will be releasing this game on Blu-ray and it'll retail for $40 in March. For some reason, it seems strange to pay more for a digital version of this classic board game. It is, however, cheaper than the alternative -- Buzz! Quiz TV, which retails for $60 (but includes four wireless buzzers).

$40 for an animated pie game piece jumping around the board? PASS!
Adjsteam @ Jan 12th 2009 4:41PM
and not to forget monopoly!!
vahdyx @ Jan 12th 2009 4:42PM
I'm getting it, I got buzz, and buzz is very fun, my friends and their girlfriends play and we have a great time.
Trivia Pursuit would be another great game for parties.

Try playing LittleBigPlanet with your friend and his girlfriends. It will be more fun, I promise.

nope

I'm good with Buzz. I don't need to buy 2 extra controllers for a 4-player game. Wireless buzzers are the best.
Mo @ Jan 12th 2009 4:47PM
buzz lets you make your own quizzes.... does trivial?
William @ Jan 12th 2009 4:48PM
People actually like this game? I've always found it terribly boring. I can't imagine paying anything like $40 per person to be able to play it.
kinadian @ Jan 12th 2009 4:50PM
Buzz is well worth the $60 price tag. Not only does it come with 4 wireless buzzers but the game is really fun. My family and I spent 6 hours playing the game on Saturday.
While I generally love trivia games I will have to wait and see on this one. I have a feeling it would fair much better if is was cheaper and released as a download title on the PSN.
ThermoPants @ Jan 12th 2009 5:06PM
I would like this if it were a downloadable title, and not so expensive. $20 max.
but who knows, maybe Sony will surprise us. Big maybe.
bluefrog @ Jan 12th 2009 11:33PM
Sony doesn't have much say in the price - EA is putting it out.
Smitty @ Jan 12th 2009 5:19PM
Way to go, EA... way to go.
spikeylee @ Jan 12th 2009 5:34PM
i dunno, call me old school, but there's nothing like playing the actual board game version of these games; missing pieces and all.
Tanya @ Jan 12th 2009 5:49PM
I would have picked this up because I love playing the real board game but $40 for a downloaded version? Nuh-uh! Screw you EA and Hasbro!
PrinceAshitaka @ Jan 12th 2009 6:07PM
Firstly, let me just say how I agree with spikeylee.. Actual board games are much better than software ones.
Secondly, the price tag.. spells doom for the game. I foresee a commercial flop xD

I know the son of the creator of Trivial Pursuit. His Dad is a funny eccentric old guy.
drdre74 @ Jan 12th 2009 10:07PM
epic fail! Won't sell for crap!
cartman58 @ Jan 12th 2009 8:57PM
$40? I'll wait a month for it to not sell and hit $15, thanks.
This would've been a great PSN downloadable title. Oh well.
TheHakku @ Jan 13th 2009 10:13AM
I might actually get this.
Chama1000 @ Jan 13th 2009 11:46AM
EA must think we're morons, not even for $10
