Resident Evil 5 demo arrives on PSN week of February 5th

The demo will include two levels and three types of co-op play: single-player with AI support, two-player split-screen on a single PS3 and two-player across PlayStation Network. Players will be able to pick between traditional RE4 controls, or a new "Action" control scheme, inspired by popular third-person shooters, like Gears of War.

I don`t really know why do the developers want RE5 to become like GOW so bad. This sounds disappointing ..

without wanting to get confrontional, what did Uncharted do that was so similar to GoW? Ohmygod! It has a cover system which works in a very similar way I realise, but that's where the similarities end.
RE5 on the other hand, is breaking a lot of traditions in the RE world by making full Co-op. RE5, whilst not having the fear factor, still had the omfgImoutnumberedholysh*tkillkillkillohnoIdied factor. It had a lot of tension.
RE5 will lose most of that tension, especially if they bring regenerating health and resurection mechanics (I'm praying they won't). Two players alone has the potential to ruin it (Left for Dead gives me hope though).
Also, wtf has happened to Chris redfield? He's turned into a walking meat fridge. That too is indicitive, if not of GoW influence, then certainly the influence of the last 2 years mainstream shooters.
I'm going round in circles here, but my point is that this seems more GoW-a-fied than Uncharted (I think I just wanna defend Uncharted since I love it).

Actually Gears learned from Resident Evil 4 with it's over the shoulder tank like controls. RE5 is returning the favor by offering a similar aiming system. Also RE team has been said to be big fans of Gears of War.
The aiming system of Gears and Uncharted is very similar and RE5 has an option of playing like them (albeit gimped to standing in place while shooting, classic RE style)
And thank god Sheva isn't bulked up like Chris or we would have some serious issues here.

Awesome, this and the Killzone 2 exclusive demo I pre-ordered from Gamestop are sure to keep me busy till the actual games come out.

Yeah i got the 360 demo as well and its beautiful but I'll get it for the PS3. My LIVE account is almost dead and I'm not paying to play games online anymore. Only thing about playing this online is PS3 people dont have mics so its going to be hard to play with some idiot running running around and you cant tell him to hold up. lol!

Yeah, less people have mics on PS3 but I'm seeing more and more with them since the Official Bluetooth mic from Sony became available (which I heavily recommend).
I won't be one of those mic-less, half-retarded gamers that don't understand how to play with other people online. Add me, if you would.

It's funny how most people don't have headsets on PSN (though not Everyone does on LIVE either) considering pretty much any mic will work...
I already had a $15 motorola bluetooth for my phone that I use and now with in-game XMB, it's too easy to setup vs. before.....

I perfer no mics. Some games you need to communicate but my experience with LIVE consisted of 13yr olds calling each other gay, and jocks getting way to intense.
Sorry to stereotype or whatever but it was annoying. I like hoping onto a good TF2/R2 game on the ps3 and everyone just knowing their role w/o saying a word. perfection.

Yeah, mics are good with friends. I don't care much for listening to strangers scream into their mics.
I do have a keyboard in my lap for LittleBigPlanet, though. It's perfect for that.

US. Unless specifically stated ("in Europe," "European PSN releases," etc.), our news is primarily geared to a US audience.

It's like a Qore demo. It's exclusive to Xbox LIVE Gold members for a week. Then it's free on both Xbox LIVE on PlayStation Network.

At press events we were able to play LAN, but I don't know about this demo. Our review copies should be coming in soon, so we'll find out then. I'll try to make a note of it.

Anyway, I think there will be split-screen co-op. But I wouldn't know, but if the 360 version has split-screen than I'm betting the PS3 version will have split-screen.

I second that but as soon as R.E. 5 is out im dropping KZ2 like a bad habit. Once i beat the game though I'll go back to KZ2 im growing tired of Resistance 2 already and Socom is just plain horrible.
